奥多摩の豊かな緑に囲まれ、道路と川に挟まれた敷地に建つ別荘である。
建物は地形や周囲の環境に呼応するように折れ、庭と川に向かって開く構成とした。
ご家族だけでなく、友人やその家族など、多人数で過ごせる場とすることが求められた。それに応答するように、内外が連続するおおらかな空間構成としている。
道路側は表情を抑え、外部からの視線や環境条件を制御する一方で、庭・川側には深い軒と連続するテラスを設け、光や風、緑を室内に取り込んでいる。
多人数でもゆったりと過ごせるよう、外部デッキと連続するベンチを設け、内外の連続性を空間的に強化している。
建物が庭を囲うことで、外部に開きながらも落ち着きのある居場所をつくり、室内・庭・テラスが連続する内外一体の空間を形成している。
室内のどこにいても周囲の緑を感じられる計画とした。

A villa where greenery can be felt from anywhere
This vacation home stands on a site nestled between a road and a river, surrounded by the lush greenery of Okutama.
The building is designed to bend in response to the topography and surrounding environment, opening up toward the garden and the river.
While the facade facing the road is kept understated to control external views and environmental conditions, the garden and river sides feature deep eaves and continuous terraces that bring light, breeze, and greenery into the interior.
By having the building encircle the garden, a tranquil outdoor space is created that remains open to the outside, forming a unified living space where the interior, garden, and terrace flow seamlessly together.
The design allows the surrounding greenery to be felt from anywhere within the house.
