住宅街に佇む築45年の木造民家を、サボテンや植物を扱う店舗へ改修。
日常との境界を生み出すために、コールテン鋼の大壁をアプローチに設けた。大壁を抜けると、全て白く塗られた半屋外スペースが現れる。
内部は長年、民家を支えてきた既存木造の軸組を仕上げに現し、床は左官仕上げ、残した床の間や障子、壁や建具はありまま民家としての時間の痕跡を、白く塗装仕上げとした。
訪れる人々と植物が出会うまでの過程が、鮮明に記憶に残る物語を感じられる店舗となった。

A 45-year-old wooden house nestled in a residential neighborhood was renovated into a shop specializing in cacti and other plants.
To create a boundary between the shop and everyday life, a large Corten steel wall was installed along the approach. Passing through this wall reveals a semi-outdoor space painted entirely white.
Inside, the existing wooden post-and-beam framework—which had supported the house for many years—was left exposed as part of the finish. The floors feature a plaster finish, while the preserved tokonoma, shoji screens, walls, and fixtures were painted white to preserve the traces of time as a traditional Japanese home.
The result is a shop where visitors can experience a story that leaves a vivid impression—the journey leading up to the moment when people and plants meet.
