〈さだ助別邸 ICHIJO〉はその名のとおり、お客様にとって唯一無二、一生の思い出づくりの一助を担うスモールラグジュアリー旅館である。兵庫県の日本海側、海と山に囲まれた自然あふれる香住という地域の環境や特徴を活かし、すべての空間において異なるデザインコンセプトとした。
それぞれの空間のデザインコンセプトは香住地区を感じること、香住を記憶に残すことを前提とし、山や海、そこで育つ作物や海産物などをイメージ化し、デザインの中に散りばめた。ただ格好良い空間をつくるだけではなく、香住という街を研究し、香住の自然という大きな資産をここに訪れる人々と共有したいという想いから、その魅力を空間の中にぎゅっと詰め込み、人々の記憶に強く残るデザインを目指した。
旅館の顔であるファサードは、「格子のある宿」をコンセプトとした。格子は太さや形状、配置バランスによってさまざまなかたちで、地域、職種によってその姿を変えて存続してきた。今回は、格子をランダムな隙間や組み方の違うものを組み合わせることで生まれた新たな格子を香住の格子と見立てた。今回デザインしたファサードの格子を「香住格子」として存続させていきたいと考えている。
〈ICHIJO〉では、お食事処を設け、宿泊されるお客様の朝夕の食事をお食事処でおもてなしする。お食事処は「物見遊山・香住の街」をコンセプトとした。香住の街、海、山に出掛けて遊んでみることで香住の名所をはじめ、町や自然の魅力に気づかされ、ここを訪れるすべての人々とこの魅力を共有したいという想いをこの空間の中にぎゅっと詰め込み、お客様に食事をしながら香住の街を物見遊山してほしいというメッセージを込めている。
客室は6室あり、それぞれの客室を違うコンセプトでデザインした。香住浜、山の幸や白波など1部屋ごとに香住の魅力感じてもらえるようにと考え、記憶に残るデザインを目指した。（今福彰俊、杉山リリー）
A Japanese‐style hotel renovated with the charm of the land in its design
“ICHIJO Ryokan” offers guests a chance to create unforgettable memories. Kasumi’s unique environment and characteristics are reflected in its distinct design concepts. Mountains and the Sea of Japan surround Hyogo Prefecture’s Kasumi Peninsula. Kasumi was embodied in each of the spaces through the design concept. In addition to creating a cool space for people to work and hang out, we also wanted to share Kasumi’s most valuable asset, its natural beauty, with visitors. Therefore, as part of the project, images of the mountains and sea, and crops and marine products were interspersed throughout.
The design concept for the facade is “a Ryokan with latticework.”
The shape, thickness, and placement of lattices have changed throughout history as well as their location and occupation. Through the use of randomly placed lattices and a variety of assembly techniques, the Kasumi latticework was created. Kasumi lattice is what we call the latticework on this facade.
Breakfast and dinner will be served in the ICHIJO dining room. The dining room concept is based on the experiences of Kasumi. Visitors to the area will be able to experience the town’s charm and nature at the restaurant.
ICHIJO has six guest rooms that have respective different design concepts about Kasumi.
Using Kasumi’s characteristics, the guest rooms will make an impression on Kasumi’s memories. (Akitoshi Imafuku, Lily Sugiyama)
