この家は、デンマーク北部の牧歌的な景色のなかにある。牧草地と森に囲まれたこの家は、木々に囲まれた静かな場所にあり、光と空気をもたらす公園のような庭に続いている。家の外観は、伝統的なデンマークのカントリーハウスへのオマージュであり、マットな色調のトープ色（註：温かみのあるベージュを含んだ薄いグレー）のファサード、ペインド・ウィンドウ（註：枠で分割された窓）、茅葺き屋根、花崗岩の石の装飾が特徴である。内部はすべて、地元で調達された自然素材を使用している。
室内では、ざらっとした質感のある表面、考え抜かれた造付けや特注のディテールを持つ、温かくバランスのとれた空間が構成されている。外観での全体的な雰囲気と配色は、木、石、天然繊維のテキスタイルやレザーなど、生の触感のある素材を使用したインテリアに変換されている。家のオープンスペースの計画に大きな影響を及ぼしているのは、農家の魅力であり、独自の洗練された外観であり、エレガントで彫刻的な要素の組み合わせである。
頻繁にゲストを受け入れたり、楽しませたりするアクティブな家族のニーズを満たすように設計されたこの家には、プール、テニスコート、連結された温室がある。インテリアに選ばれたすべての素材は耐久性があり、メンテナンスが容易で、時間が経つにつれて起こる摩耗や破損によって美しさを増していく。家族のライフスタイルと頻繁に出かける旅行に触発され、この家もまた、人をもてなすインテリアの特徴的な要素を含んでいる。
開放的な間取りでは単色の空間がシームレスに行き交い、それぞれの空間のしきい値や機能は素材やレベル差で切り替えながら構成されている。

室内には、オーク材の壁や特注のキャビネット、ディネッセン・ダグラスパインの床、ダークオーク、スモークオーク、ブラックアイアン、タラ・グレー・マーブルの特注家具など、美しくナチュラルで質感のある表面が使われている。

A mansion that combines the charm of a country house with contemporary design
The house is located in the idyllic landscape of Northern Zealand, Denmark. Surrounded by meadows and forests, the house sits intimately secluded in a nook of trees that open up to a park-like garden that brings light and air to the residence. The exterior of the house is a tribute to traditional Danish country houses, featuring a matte-rendered chalky taupe coloured façade, paned windows, thatched roof and granite stone settings. Everything inside out is made from the finest, largely locally sourced natural materials.
Inside, the house comprises warm, balanced spaces with roughly textured surfaces, thoughtfully in-built and bespoke details. The overall mood and colour scheme of the exterior is translated into the interior with a raw, tactile material palette of wood, stone, natural fibre textiles and leathers dominating the open space plan of the house, combining farmhouse appeal, exclusive refinement and elegant, sculptural features.
Designed to meet the needs of an active family that often hosts and entertains guests, the property comprises pool, tennis court and connected greenhouse. All materials chosen for the interiors are durable and easily maintained, only gaining beauty with time, wear and tear. Inspired by the family’s lifestyle and frequent traveling, the home also contains elements characteristic of hospitality interiors.
The open space layout of the house consists of monochrome spaces seamlessly transitioning into one another, with switching levels and materials defining the thresholds and functions of each individual space.
In the master bedroom, large oak doors similar to those of the bedroom cabinets and wood panelled walls open up to the bathroom, featuring bespoke cabinets and basins, as well as a walk-in closet, elegantly resembling the layout of a hotel suite.
In the bedroom section of the house, all walls are juxtaposed between lightly toned, bone-coloured walls and white oak. Some of the oak-panelled walls contain hidden or open storage as well as niches next to the bed and in the bathroom, serving as storage compartments or displays.
The beautifully natural and textured surfaces inside the house include oak walls and bespoke, in-built cabinets, Dinesen Douglas Pine floors, as well as bespoke furniture in dark, smoked oak, blackened iron and Thala Grey Marble.
The bench designed for the main entrance of the house is made from sawn smoked oak and Royal Nubuk Leather from Sørensen Leather. The elegant bar cabinet is designed in lamelled dark oak and blackened iron. The sculptural dining table stands as a magnificent centrepiece in the bright and stone-floored dining room with textured walls and paned, floor-to-ceiling windows. (Norm Architects)
