「足りないものは、そのつど商店街で手に入れる。」
自らも雑貨店を営み、物と生活のあり方をていねいに考えながら暮らす家族のための住宅である。
住居の範囲を少し商店街に拡張してとらえることで生まれたワンルームの空間の中は、水回りなどの最低限の閉じた部屋以外はすのこ床や障子で緩やかに仕切られ、広くとられたオープン棚をはじめ、施主によって選ばれた物たちの背景としての場所がちりばめられている。
1階のエントランスを入った吹き抜けの空間は、施主の雑貨店のサテライトショールームのような場所になり、その奥の大きなカウンターのキッチンでは、将来おにぎり屋さんを開業する計画が進んでいる。
2階のプライベートスペースとは、すのこの床やリサイクルの障子によって仕切られることで、互いの雰囲気が伝わるとともに、ストーブからの暖気が建物全体に行き渡るようになっている。
寝室の上に設けたロフトや可動間仕切り、すのこ床によって、またライフスタイルの変化によって、さまざまにカスタマイズしていくことができるようになっている。（番場俊宏）
A rich compact house created by expanding the interpretation of housing
“If we need something, we go to the shopping district to get it.”
This is a house for a family that runs a general store and lives while carefully considering how to live with things.
The idea of the residence was slightly extended to the shopping district. The one-room space created in this way is gently divided by louvered floors and shoji screens, except for the minimum number of closed rooms, such as the water closet. The space is interspersed with wide open shelves and other places that serve as backgrounds for objects chosen by the client.
The open-ceilinged space at the first-floor entrance serves as a satellite showroom for the client’s general merchandise store. In the kitchen with a large counter at the back, plans are underway to open an onigiri (rice ball) shop in the future.
The louvered floor and recycled shoji screens separate the private spaces on the second floor, allowing them to feel each other’s presence and allowing the warmth from the stove to spread throughout the building.
The loft above the bedrooms, movable partitions, and louvered floors allow for a variety of customization as lifestyles change. (Toshihiro Banba)
