Fragrant interiors composed of rich materials

The project is located in a bread shop in Nakagawa City, Fukuoka.
In designing a restaurant, we thought it was crucial to have an “atmosphere” that people feel must be delicious.

Located along the JR elevated railroad tracks near the Shinkansen train depot, the shop standing small, and eave is short. If you open the wooden door with a “spoon-cut” surface, you will feel a very delicious smell. It is freshly aroma baked’s, and a large counter greets you.

This shop specializes in take-out, and it is over this counter that you can see the conversations between the customers and the shop’s staff. The wood is carefully crafted by craftsmen, each of which has a texture that makes you want to touch it. The wood counter has a good feeling that carefully crafted by the craftsmen, one by one. It is beautiful, so the staff has found themselves stroking the surface.

The materiality is the counter reminiscent of freshly baked bread, leading for bread rack so natural, and gently separating the kitchen from the sales area. We linked these two axes of composition with the store’s logo to achieve harmony between spatiality and graphics. (Akihiro Nakao + Yoshikazu Saito)
