2面の生活道路に接道し、北側にもゆとりある私道を抱えた東京都板橋区の住宅街に建つシェアハウスの計画である。18の住室と入居者同士の交流が自然と繰り広げられる共用スペースが与条件として設定された。1カ月限定居住という運営がなされ、居住者が常に入れ替わりながらコミュニティが拡がっていくシェアードスペースの新たなかたちを目指す建築である。
18の住室と豊かな共用スペースを最大限に得るため、2本の螺旋階段を骨格とした吹き抜け空間を中心に据え、各住室と水廻りなどの諸機能が外周に絡まりつく機能配置とした。居住者の生活動線がすべて大きな体積をもつ吹き抜けとして中央に存在することで、使い方に自由度と弾力をもつシェアードスペースが立ち現れた。
片方が二重に重ねられたテキスタイルにより緩やかに分節された2つの階段は1カ月限定で入れ替わる居住者たちの男女別やグループなどさまざまな使い方の仕切りとして柔らかく機能する。〈さざえ堂〉のように階段状にループする形態が外部にそのまま表出され、4階共用スペースまで半層ずつずれながら地続きにつながっている。
4階共用スペースの外壁を外周から2メートル程度セットバックを行い、テラスを配置したことで住宅地の近隣建物のボリュームから逸脱せず、かつプライバシーが保たれた空間ができた。居住者たちは好んでこの場所で長時間滞在できる。さまざまなグループでの利用を想定し、キッチンも2カ所配置して柔軟性をもった場所となっている。
空間を最大限有効利用でき、かつモジュールに規定されない空間を満足するため、無柱、無梁で偏平な壁式構造とした。中央の吹き抜けを守るように立ち上がる幹のような筒状体をセンターコアとし、段状部分を梁要素として一体で計算を行うことで、中央の吹き抜けコアから個室群の床スラブと立ち上がりをすべてキャンティレバーでもち出すことができ、段状スラブの形態を外部にそのまま表出している。
この建築が時を経るごとに、多くの人びとの1カ月の思い出を生み出すことを願っている。（伊原 慶）
A share house with a new shared form and a dwelling unit entwined with two spiral staircases
This is a plan for a shared house in a residential area of Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, bordered by two roads and a generous driveway on the north side. 18 rooms and a common space where residents can naturally interact with each other were set as preconditions. The building is designed to be a new form of shared space, where residents can live together for a limited period of time, constantly changing and expanding their community.
In order to maximize the 18 living rooms and abundant common space, an atrium space with two spiral staircases as its framework was placed at the center, and each living room and various functions such as water facilities were arranged around the perimeter. By placing all of the residents’ daily activities in the center of the atrium, which has a large volume, a shared space with flexibility and flexibility in its usage emerges.
The two staircases, gently divided by a double layer of textiles on one side, function softly as partitions for the various ways of using the space, such as by gender or by groups of residents who change on a monthly basis. Like 〈Sazaedou〉, the staircase-like looping form of the staircase is directly expressed to the outside, and is connected to the fourth floor common space in a continuous manner, shifting by half a layer.
The exterior wall of the common space on the fourth floor was set back about 2 meters from the perimeter, and a terrace was placed to create a space that does not deviate from the volume of the neighboring buildings in the residential area and maintains privacy. Residents like to spend a lot of time in this place. Two kitchens have been placed to provide flexibility for various groups.
In order to make the most effective use of the space and to satisfy the need for a space that is not restricted by modules, a flat wall structure without columns and beams was chosen. The cylindrical body like a trunk that rises up to protect the central atrium is the center core, and the stepped part is calculated as a beam, so that all the floor slabs and rises of the private rooms from the central atrium can be brought out by cantilevering, and the form of the stepped slab is directly expressed to the outside.
