立川駅近くのテナントビル2階にある美容室である。オーナーはカウンセリングを重視し、お客様１人１人に対して、時間をかけて親身に接客を行いたい希望があった。
1席1席の距離を取ることと、各席の間に等ピッチで擬似柱を設けることにより、感覚的なプライベート感を演出した。また、連続したアーチが各セット面のブース感を強めている。
連続した台形型アーチは規律をもった図形になっており、合理的な構造をもった土の空間にも見えつつ、逆に土塊を掘ってできたような洞窟のようにも見える不思議な空間である。洞窟の中で感じる非日常感と、リラックスできるような空間を目指した。
壁、天井をジョリパットという素材に限定し、自然素材に見える仕上げにすることで、その空間のつくり方自体が曖昧となり自然と人工物の中間のような空間が生まれた。（堀川 塁）
A beauty salon where trapezoidal arches finished with plastered walls create an extraordinary feeling like being in a cave
The beauty salon is located on the second floor of a tenant building near Tachikawa station. The owner wanted to emphasize counseling and take time to serve each customer in a friendly manner.
The distance between each seat and the pseudo-pillars at an equal pitch between each seat creates a sense of privacy. In addition, a series of arches reinforce the booth feel of each set surface.
A series of trapezoidal arches form a disciplined shape, creating a mysterious space that looks like an earthen space with a rational structure and looks like a cave dug out of the earth. My goal was to create a space that would allow the visitor to relax and feel the extraordinary sensation of being in a cave.
By limiting the walls and ceilings to a material called “Jollipad” and finishing the walls and ceilings to look like natural materials, the way space was created became ambiguous, creating a space between natural and artificial. (Rui Horikawa)
