石川県能見市、田園の風景が広がるエリアに点在する町の中心部にある敷地における住宅の計画である。
150坪程度の比較的ゆったりした街区であるが、第1種住居地域に指定され、建蔽率60％容積率200％であるためか、周辺には敷地いっぱいに建てられた大きな住宅が多くみられた。そうした周辺環境に対して、余白を提供できるような建ち方を提案できないかと考えた。
〈NN〉はご夫婦とお子さん2人の4人家族のための住宅である。建築主の要望は冬季の日照が不足するので、なるべく太陽の光が入る家にしてほしいということであった。
そのため、南側の間口が大きくとれるよう東西方向に敷地いっぱいに引き伸ばされた平面形状とした。必要諸室を東西に並べた単純な構成であるが、南側の開口のつくり方を工夫することで、場所によって違う雰囲気をもった空間が生まれている。
ゆったりした敷地の中央に、敷地に対して比較的コンパクトで単純な矩形の建物を配置し、北と南の敷地境界から約10m引きをとり、南北にそれぞれ庭を設けている。その庭を東西に2分割することで、全部で4つの庭に分かれている。
北東側は離れのガレージのある車のための庭、北西側は高さ1mの丘に植えられた木々の間を縫うように小道が配されたアプローチのための庭となっている。
南側の庭は桟橋のように突出したバルコニーによって東西に2分割されている。南東側はダイニングと一体として使えるバーベキューなどを行える庭、南西側は大きなシンボルツリーが植えられた眺めるための庭となっている。これらの4つの庭はこの住宅に豊かさをもたらすとともに、周辺環境に対しても抜けや緑の潤いを与えてくれることを期待した。（山縣 洋）
A house where four gardens create a rich living environment and a margin for the town
This project is a residential plan for a site in the center of a town scattered in a rural landscape in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
It is a relatively spacious district of about 150 tsubos. Still, because it is designated as a Type 1 residential area, with a building-to-land ratio of 60% and a floor-area ratio of 200%, many large houses are built on the entire site in the vicinity. Therefore, we wondered if we could propose a building style that would provide a margin of freedom for the surrounding environment.
“NN” is a house for a family of four, a couple and two children. The client wanted the house to have as much sunlight as possible because of the lack of sunlight in winter.
To achieve this, the house was designed to have a large frontage on the south side, and we extended the site in the east-west direction. The structure is simple, with the necessary rooms lined up east-west. Still, by devising a way to create an opening on the south side, a space with a different atmosphere is created depending on the location.
A relatively compact and simple rectangular building is placed in the center of a spacious site, with a 10-meter separation from the northern and southern site boundaries and a garden on each side. The garden is divided into two parts, east and west, for four gardens.
The northeast side is a garden for cars with a detached garage, and the northwest side is a garden for approaching the house with a path winding through the trees planted on a 1m high hill.
The garden on the south side is divided into two parts, east and west, by a balcony that protrudes like a pier. The southeast side is a garden for barbecues that can be used as an integral part of the dining room, and the southwest side is a garden for viewing with a large symbolic tree. The southwest side is a garden for viewing with a large symbolic tree planted. These four gardens are expected to bring richness to the house and give a sense of greenery to the surrounding environment. (Yo Yamagata)
