福岡県筑紫野市の幹線道路沿いにあるドッグサロン・ホテルの倉庫・事務所部分を、併設カフェとアパレルとして生まれ変わらせるプロジェクト。
単体としての利用目的はもちろんのこと、トリミングの待ち時間やホテルへのお迎えの際に2次利用できるような、落ち着いた空間が求められた。
テラスに繋がるテイクアウト窓口の設置やベンチスペースの幅・高さなどの検討、素材の選び方など犬と人両面から使いやすい空間にすることを目指した。
また、なによりオーナーの人柄には多大な影響を受けた。
はきはきとしゃべり、明るく人当たりがよい。そしてファッショナブルで洗練された女性だった。彼女の周りには多くの人達が集まってくるのだろうなと思われた。
そんな彼女がこの空間に座っていることが違和感ない、人となりにあった空間をめざした。（小嶋健志郎）
A cafe for people and dogs where dog salon users can relax
A project to reincarnate the warehouse / office portion of a dog salon/hotel along the main road in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture, as an attached café and apparel shop.
The project called for a relaxed space that could be used not only as a stand-alone space but also as a secondary space when waiting for trimming or picking up the dogs from the hotel.
We aimed to create a space that is easy to use for both dogs and people by installing a take-out window leading to the terrace, considering the width and height of the bench space, and choosing suitable materials.
Above all, we were greatly influenced by the owner’s personality.
He speaks clearly and cheerfully and is very amiable. She was fashionable and sophisticated. I felt that many people would gather around her.
I aimed to create a space that would fit her personality, where she would not feel out of place sitting in this space. (Kenshiro Kojima)
