もとの店舗のコンセプトと上賀茂神社の風情に敬意を払いつつ、新たな世界観をスムーズに融合させることに力を注いだ。緻密な打ち合わせを経て、天井・壁・床の材料や、周囲の環境や自然に溶け込むような数百種類の中から厳選された色を採用した。
照明計画では、来店者が穏やかに過ごせるように、光の存在感を最小限に抑えつつ、素材の美しさを引き出すための微調整を繰り返し行った。また、座席のバリエーションにもこだわり、「おこもり感」を演出するプライベートな場所をつくり、オープンなフロアの中でも適度な緊張感を生み出す工夫が施されている。
このカフェ＆バーでは、サステナブルやSDGsへの理解を深めるオーナーの情熱が感じられ、地元民に深く愛される店舗へと成長した。積極的なエコ活動や地元の素材を活かしたメニューが提供されており、地元文化と環境に貢献している。

Cafe and bar that blends in with the atmosphere of the shrine and nature
This sophisticated cafe and bar is located near Kyoto’s historic Kamigamo Shrine. This elegant space offers visitors to the shrine and nearby residents an exquisite place to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Breathtaking views of the Kamogamo River and a row of cherry blossom trees in full spring adorn the facade, creating an inviting appearance.
We focused on smoothly integrating the new worldview while respecting the original store concept and the elegance of Kamigamo Shrine. Through detailed discussions, we carefully selected materials for the ceiling, walls, and floor and colors from hundreds of choices that would blend in with the surrounding environment and nature.
In the lighting plan, we repeatedly fine-tuned the lighting to bring out the beauty of the materials while minimizing the presence of light so that visitors could spend their time peacefully. We also carefully examined seating variations, creating private areas with a sense of “seclusion” and the right amount of tension even within the open floor space.
The café and bar have become deeply loved by the locals, thanks to the owner’s passion for sustainability and understanding of the SDGs. The café contributes to the local culture and environment through its proactive eco-activities and a menu that makes the most of local ingredients.
When visiting the Kamigamo Shrine area, please enjoy a luxurious moment at this café and bar with its sophisticated interior and comfortable atmosphere.
