近年多く見かける「サステナブル」というキーワードが多く生まれたのは、単に流行ではなく、世の中が資源の枯渇について深く考える時代に入っているからだ。そして次々と生まれる商業空間は資源消費の複合体でもある。
〈BARISTAR〉は環境配慮とブランドの特性を組み合わせ、軽量鉄骨やパンチングブリッジなどの建築材料を空間の主な造形材料にした。従来工法の外装材の使用を減らし、材質自体の強度や重量を減らし、モジュール化して組み立て、施工時間を短縮し、より環境に配慮した設計や建造工法を選択している。このシンプルなモジュールは場所によって椅子や机、カウンターや階段などにさまざまな変化とコミュニケーション、行動を促す。
日常的な材料を非日常的に使用することで、従来の環境負荷製品としてのライフスパンの終焉ではなく、接触資源や工法を減らすことでの新たな資源として空間デザインのイノベーションを目指した。（出口 勉、岡本慶三）
A cafe where exterior materials are kept to a minimum and modular building materials create a place
The keyword “sustainable,” which has been seen in large numbers in recent years, has arisen not simply because it is a fad but because we are entering an era in which the world is thinking deeply about the depletion of resources. The commercial spaces created one after another are a complex of resource consumption.
“BARISTAR” combines environmental considerations with the brand’s characteristics, using lightweight steel frames, perforated bridges, and other building materials as the primary materials used in the formulation of the space. The use of conventional exterior materials has been reduced, the strength and weight of the materials themselves have been reduced, and the building has been modularly assembled to shorten construction time and to choose a more environmentally friendly design and construction method. This simple module encourages various changes, communication, and action in chairs, desks, counters, and stairs, depending on the location.
By unusually using everyday materials, we aimed for innovation in spatial design as a new resource by reducing contact resources and construction methods, rather than the end of the lifespan as a conventional environmentally hazardous product. (Tsutomu Deguchi, Okamoto Keizo)
