〈家々〉は、浦安の区画整理された住宅地に建つ、ピアノ教室のある夫婦2人暮らしの家。ピアノ教室やテレワークなどの社会が家の中に入り込んでいる住宅において、近隣に直接開くのではなく、一般的な住宅同様に、近隣には閉じたうえで、内部で我々が捉えているイメージとしてのまちを感じてもらい、まちというイメージが連続的に繋がることを試みた。
まちでは、家の形に加え、色や光、バルコニーや窓などの付属要素により街並みがつくり出され、その複雑さが故に個々を捉えているわけではない。そんなまち全体の漠然とした捉え方を〈家々〉の中でつくり出すことを試みた。いくつもの家型が入れ子に展開していくが、その家型をエッジからの光や抜けにより不確かに認識させることで、揺らぎのある全体としての現象をつくり上げようとした。家の中に住んでいるものの、まちに住んでいるような心地よい公共性が生まれている。また、住まい方を特定せず、住まい方の移ろいに寄り添える構造計画とした。（中西正佳）
A house that encompasses the streetscape as a phenomenon
“Houses” is a house for two couples with piano lessons, located in a residential area in the Urayasu zoning district. In a house where society, such as piano lessons and teleworking, is embedded in the house, the house is not directly open to the neighborhood, but rather, like most houses, closed. We attempted to create a continuous connection between the image of the city and our perception of it inside the house.
In a town, in addition to the shape of the house, the streetscape is created by color, light, balconies, windows, and other accessory elements. Because of their complexity, we do not perceive each of them individually. I attempted to create a vague perception of the town within the “Houses.” The house forms are nested and developed, and I tried to make a fluctuating phenomenon as a whole by having the viewer perceive the house forms uncertainly through the light from the edges and the omissions. Although we live in the house, a comfortable publicity is created, as if we were living in a town. The structural plan is designed to accommodate the residents’ changing needs, without specifying how they live. (Masayoshi Nakanishi)
