横浜の湾岸約33万ｍ²の広大な土地に、複数期に分けて計画されている大型物流倉庫の2期工事である。1期工事に続き、本プロジェクトでも託児所、共用ラウンジ、ファサードデザインを弊社が担った。
南ラウンジは、大型物流倉庫内、メゾネット型の共用ラウンジである。鉱物のような物体が床を貫通する意匠により階の繋がりを強調し、物体を部分的にくり抜くことで人が佇む場所（＝フォリー）を点在させた。フォリーの間を縫うような移動は海の景色を劇的に見せる。吹き抜け状に設えたテラスは、産業遺産として遺されたクレーンの鑑賞席となり、空中に跳ね出した階段がスリルとともに、海のパノラマや富士山の眺望が楽しめる屋上のスカイデッキへと導く。
北ラウンジは、大型物流倉庫内の共用ラウンジである。曲面ヴォリュームから箱型をくり抜いたような構成とすることで、異なる趣や目的をもった空間へとゆるやかに分節した。半円形をなす客席は面する壁面を一面鏡にすることで、あたかも円形ホールにいるかのように錯覚させる空間とした。加えて天井にも鏡面素材を施した。これにより天井を高く感じさせるだけでなく、どこまでも鏡像が続く迷宮のような、天地効果を促す場を目指した。
大型物流倉庫内に設けられた託児所には、園庭には滑り台、クライミングスロープ、砂場などを設けた。保育室はアーチ状にくり抜いた壁を設け、ゆるやかに部屋を区切った。壁に対して斜めに穿ったアーチは、壁の厚みを実際以上に感じさせる。アーチの大きさはさまざまで、天地が反転したU字型アーチも織り交ぜた。こうした仕掛は、腰掛けたり、ねそべったり、かくれんぼをするなど、子供たちがさまざまな遊びを生み出すきっかけになるだろう。

Mezzanine-style lounge overlooking industrial heritage up close
This is the second phase of a large-scale logistics warehouse project planned in multiple phases on a vast 330,000 m² site along Yokohama’s waterfront. Following the first phase, our company was again responsible for the daycare center, shared lounge, and façade design in this project.
South Lounge: A mezzanine-style shared lounge within the large logistics warehouse. The design emphasizes the connection between floors through mineral-like objects that pierce the floors. Partially hollowing out these objects creates scattered spots for people to linger (follies). Moving between these follies reveals the ocean view in all its glory. The atrium-like terrace serves as a viewing platform for the preserved industrial heritage crane. A staircase jutting into the air provides a thrill as it leads to the rooftop sky deck, offering panoramic ocean views and vistas of Mount Fuji.
North Lounge: A shared lounge within the large logistics warehouse. Its composition, resembling a box-shaped volume carved from a curved form, gently segments the space into areas with distinct atmospheres and purposes. The semicircular seating area features a full-length mirror on one wall, creating the illusion of a circular hall. Mirrored ceiling panels further enhance this effect. This design not only makes the ceiling feel higher but also creates a labyrinthine space where mirrored reflections seem to extend endlessly, promoting a sense of spatial depth.
Daycare Center: A daycare facility within the large logistics warehouse. The outdoor play area includes a slide, climbing slope, and sandbox. The nursery rooms are gently partitioned by walls featuring arched cutouts. The arches, cut diagonally into the walls, make the wall thickness feel greater than it actually is. The arches vary in size, including inverted U-shaped arches. These features encourage children to create various forms of play, such as sitting, lying down, or playing hide-and-seek.
