佐賀県との県境に近い雷山の中腹、遠く玄界灘を望む別荘地に建つ別荘の計画。
傾斜地の細長い敷地形状に合わせ、長さ約40ｍの緩やかな弧を描く平面形が、連続するトップライトをもつ切り妻の瓦屋根によって覆われている。眺望の確保と、高いレベルで接道する前面道路との関係から、建物本体はピロティ形式の高床構造となっており、すべての部屋はゆったりとした奥行きのある展望バルコニーに面してリニアに配置されている。
エントランスドアを開け寒緋桜の植わった中庭を見ながらエントランススペースを下ると、テンションロッドの連続する屋根架構が特徴的なギャラリーに導かれる。ゆったりとした幅員を確保した廊下を兼ねたギャラリーには、絵画を展示するためのスペースとしても利用される。
室内は、約30畳のリビングダイニング、独立したパウダールームをもつ2つのベッドルームと和室、供給される天然温泉を利用した浴室などで構成されており、屋根架構を現した高い天井高と電動ブラインドが内蔵されたトップライトからの明るい光が特徴的なインテリアとなっている。
トップライトを含む居室の開口部にはLow-eペアガラスを採用、屋根、壁面には通気層をもつ高い断熱性を確保し、床吹き出し方式の空調を採用するなど、快適な居住環境の確保と環境負荷の低減を目指している。（富岡真一郎）
40m arched flat villa with spectacular views
This is a plan for a villa to be built in a villa area overlooking the Genkai Sea in the distance, halfway up Mt.
The gently arcing plan of approximately 40 meters in length, adapted to the sloping, long, and narrow site, is covered by a gabled tile roof with a series of top lights. To secure the view of the front road, which is tangent at a high level, the main body of the building is a piloti-style high-floor structure, and all the rooms are linearly arranged facing the spacious and deep observation balconies.
Opening the entrance door and descending the entrance space while viewing the courtyard planted with scarlet cherry trees, one is led to a gallery characterized by a series of tension-rod roof structures. The gallery, which doubles as a spacious, wide corridor, is also used as a space for displaying paintings.
The interior consists of a living and dining room of approximately 30 tatami mats, two bedrooms with separate powder rooms, a Japanese-style room, and a bathroom that utilizes the natural hot spring water supplied by the building. The interior is characterized by high ceilings that reveal the roof structure and bright light from the top lights with built-in electric blinds.
Low-e double-glazing is used in the openings of the living rooms, including the top lights, and the roof and walls have ventilation layers to ensure high thermal insulation. (Shinichiro Tomioka)
