新旧の家々が混在する住宅地の一画。L字路の入隅にぎりぎり2mだけ口を開けた敷地は、奥に入ると変形の楔形に奥へと延び、ブロック塀でぐるりと囲まれていた。北と西は隣家がせまるが、東は里道を挟んで約3.6m上に道路と公園が隣接し、豊かな緑の借景が広がっていた。
幅3mのチューブを2回折り曲げ、水回りが外にはみ出した平面は、内部が緩く3つに分かれると同時に、外部を適度な大きさの5つの庭に間仕切る。1つの内と1つの外、ではなく、いくつかの内といつかの外。これらの内と外を、既製品サッシを利用したピクチュアウィンドウが繋ぐ。視線は抜け、向こうが透け、人も往き来する。
内外どこの場所にいても、向こうと向こう、あるいは向こうの向こう、またその向こうを感じることができる。それはときには内→外→内であったり、またときには外→内→内、内→内→外であったり、また敷地の外、借景の緑や空の青にまで届いたり。
生活にとって外は内よりも重要かもしれない。外のありようが住宅のかたちを決定づける。
内にいながら外を感じる。外に出ていても内を感じる。そうした個々の空間の連なりの合計がイコール敷地全体であるような。中間領域をつくるのではないやり方で内部と外部の新しい関係づくりを試みた。（矢部達也）
A house with a good outlook that tried to create a relationship between the inside and the outside
The site, located in a residential area with a mixture of old and new houses, was located on the corner of an L-shaped street with a 2m opening at the very end, extending backward in a deformed wedge shape and surrounded by a block wall. While neighbors loomed to the north and west, a road and a park were adjacent to the east, about 3.6m above the village road, providing a rich green borrowed landscape.
The plan of the house, with a 3-meter-wide tube bent twice and the water system extending outward, loosely divides the interior into three parts while at the same time dividing the exterior into five reasonably sized gardens. These interiors and exteriors are connected by picture windows using off-the-shelf sashes. The eye can pass through, the other side can be seen through, and people can come and go.
No matter where you are, inside or outside, you can feel the other side, the other side of the other side, and the other side. Sometimes it is from inside to outside, sometimes from outside to inside, sometimes from outside to inside, sometimes from inside to inside, and sometimes from inside to outside, reaching outside the site, the greenery of the borrowed landscape and the blue of the sky.
The outside may be more important than the inside in our daily lives. The way the outside determines the form of the house.
We can feel the outside even when we are inside. Even when you are outside, you feel inside. The sum of these individual spaces is equal to the entire site. We tried to create a new relationship between the inside and the outside in a way that does not create an intermediate area. (Tatsuya Yabe)
