あわいの家 / ユウ建築設計室

床高の差が家族の気配がやわらかく繋ぐ住宅

八千代市の住宅密集地に建つこの住まいは、家族の気配がやわらかく行き交う”あわい”をかたちにした住まいである。

夕食時にはリビングに自然と集まり、朝にはベンチで光を浴びながら本を読む。階段の踊り場では子供が宿題をし、少し離れたコーナーでは親が仕事に集中する。

家のあちこちに散りばめられた「お気に入りの場所」は、距離を保ちながらも、気配や視線が届く”あわい”によって結ばれている。

住宅密集地の中でも、光と風がこの”あわい”を通り抜け、家族の気配がやわらかく繋がる。そんな、日常のひとこまがかけがえのない時間となる住まいを目指した。

A home where the difference in floor levels gently connects the family

Located in a densely populated residential area of Yachiyo City, this home embodies the “In-Between” where the family’s presence gently flows back and forth.

At dinnertime, everyone naturally gathers in the living room; in the morning, they read books on the bench while basking in the sunlight. On the staircase landing, children do their homework, while in a corner a short distance away, parents concentrate on their work.

These “favorite spots,” scattered throughout the house, are connected by these “In-Between”—spaces where people can maintain their distance while still sensing each other’s presence and catching glimpses of one another.

Even in a densely populated residential area, light and breeze flow through these “In-Between,” gently connecting the family’s presence. We aimed to create a home where everyday moments become irreplaceable.
