中国は世界最大の陶磁器生産国である一方で、毎年1,800万トンの陶磁器廃棄物を排出しています。〈YiTile〉と〈YiBrick〉は、この陶磁器廃棄物を活用し製作された循環型のマテリアルです。

キュレーター兼アーティストであるキャロライン・チェン（Caroline Cheng）とデザイナー兼材料研究者であるカール・イン（Karl Yin）により設立された、廃棄物の収集から研究、製造まで自社で行うYi Designが開発しました。

Yi Designは、工業用セラミック廃棄物を装飾的、構造的、カスタマイズ可能なタイルやレンガ、アートや製品デザインに変換することにより、インテリアや建築業界に循環型のソリューションを提供している。

自社で行う研究開発と生産により生み出す製造サイクル

私たちは研究開発によりセラミック廃棄物の新しい結合材を発明し、従来の建築材料よりもCO2排出量が少ない、エレガントで耐久性のある製品をつくり出した。

これらのセラミックレンガとタイルは自社工場にて製造する。セラミック廃棄物を集め、粉砕し、結合させ、テストし、生産する、という製造サイクルを自社内で行うことにより、私たちのミッションとクライアントのデザインにふさわしいプレミアムな製品を約束する。

YiBrick Handmade
YiBrick Handmadeにはさまざまな色があり、100％リサイクル材料でつくられており、バイオマスやフライアッシュ（石炭を燃焼する際に生じる灰の一種）、建設廃材をリサイクルした釉薬を使用している。自然な風合いを強く感じさせるこのレンガはハンドメイド製品であり、内壁やファサードに使用することができる。

YiBrick Permeableはセラミック廃棄物を90％リサイクルしてつくられている。透水性があり、水が滞留しやすい都市の舗装の解決策となる可能性を有する。

YiBrick Handmade
100% RECYCLED
YiBrick Handmade come in different colors and are made with 100% recycled materials. The glazes are made with recycled biomass and fly ashes, and construction wastes. The bricks are handmade and have a strong sense of natural texture. They can be used for interior wall and façade.

YiBrick Permeable
90% RECYCLED
YiBrick Permeable is made from 90% recycled ceramic waste. It is permeable and could be a solution for paving cities that are prone to water logging.

YiBrick Breeze Blocks
Made with recycled ceramic and industrial by products. Suitable for indoor and outdoor decorative wall.

CUSTOMIZE FOR YOUR NEEDS
YiClay
The YiClay body is produced using 70% – 100% ceramics waste and industrial by products.

YiGlaze
YiGlaze is made using up to 90% recycled glass, biomass and fly ashes, and construction waste. You can test it with various textures and Pantone colors can be manufactured.
