岐阜市郊外の住宅地に建つ、木造3階建ての2世帯住宅である。
周辺には平均してコンパクトな住宅が建ち並び、道路側をセットバックして駐車場や樹木を植えているところが多かった。この周辺環境、ヴォリューム感に合わせて車1台分（奥行き5メートル）のセットバックを行い、切妻の勾配屋根の住宅とした。
敷地の1/3が公園に面していることを利用して、道路から公園への「抜け」を確保するために、1階はガレージ兼土間テラスとし、眺望を生かせる2階にはリビングを配置した。公園からの光と風が、この住宅全体にめぐるように計画している。
家族の気配を常に感じて生活したいという、クライアントの希望に応じて、3層吹き抜けの動線のかたまり（以下、動線室：廊下や階段が集約された場所）を住宅の中央に据え、パブリックな性質をもたせている。
個室などの部屋は「動線室」を取り囲むようにして配した。
3階建てだが、各階を結ぶ階段の踊り場がスキップフロアのようになっていて、階段で1層上がるごとに、人や物のスケールに合わせてクランクさせた「動線室」の空間が縦と横に広がっていく。
各部屋には「動線室」に面したバルコニーのようなインナーテラスを設けてあり、余白のような1〜2畳ほどの小さなテラスだが、テーブルを置いたり、縁に植物を飾るなどして使われている。家族それぞれのプライバシーを守りながら、各部屋に居る者の気配が伝わり、各部屋がもつ雰囲気といったものが住宅全体に浸透していくような役目を果たす。
「動線室」を囲む階段とインナーテラスが、コンパクトな住宅に奥行きを与え、さまざまな居場所をつくり出している。（武藤圭太郎）
Two-family home with a mix of public and private spaces
This is a three-story wooden two-family house in a residential area in the suburbs of Gifu City.
The main chapter was lined with, on average, compact houses, many of which were set back on the street side with parking and trees. In accordance with the volume of the surrounding environment, a setback of one car length (5 meters deep) was constructed to create a house with a sloping gable roof.
Taking advantage of the fact that one-third of the site faces the park, the first floor is used as a garage and an earthen terrace, and the second floor is used as a living room to take advantage of the view. The plan is to allow light and wind from the park to circulate throughout the house.
In response to the client’s desire to always feel the presence of the family, a three-story vaulted flow line (hereinafter referred to as the flow line room: a place where corridors and stairs are concentrated) is placed in the center of the house to give it a public character.
Rooms such as private rooms are arranged around a “movement line room.”
Although it is a three-story building, the landing of the staircase connecting each floor is like a skip floor, and each time you take the stairs up one level, the “line of movement room” space, which is cranked according to the scale of people and objects, expands vertically and horizontally.
Each room has an inner terrace that looks like a balcony facing the “motion line room.” While protecting the privacy of each family member, it also plays a role in conveying the atmosphere of each room and permeating the entire house.
The stairs and inner terrace surrounding the “flow line room” add depth to the compact house and create a variety of places to live. (Keitaro Muto)
