オフィスというものは企業自身を体現したものではならないと考えている。よりよい執務環境はもちろんのこと、オフィスは社外の人々に対するインターフェイスでもあるため、オフィスデザインの重要性はデザイナーとしても非常に高いものであると感じている。
今回オフィス設計を依頼された企業は近年急成長を遂げているIT系企業である。彼らのオフィスは活発で新しいものを生み出す勢いとエネルギーで溢れ、対照的に彼らから生み出された製品は高度で熟練の域まで達した繊細なものであった。
アイデアとは最初は粗削りの原石のようなものから始まり、それを磨き上げていくことで徐々に洗練されたモノへと完成していく。そういった新たなアイデアを生み出す思考プロセスが体現されたような企業であった。
新オフィスにはエントランス機能、ギャラリー機能、ラボ機能の大きく3つの機能が要求された。また視察や顧客の来社があるため、見せることを前提とした研究所のような雰囲気を求められた。
我々は以上の要望と企業イメージを新オフィスの空間で体現することを目指した。
そこで既存内装を一度荒々しいスケルトンの状態まで戻し、それぞれのエリアに新規の天井や壁、家具などを挿入していった。ステンレスパネル、金属製の角パイプ、FRP製のグレーチング、金属メッシュ、カラーガラスなど、精巧につくられた工業材料を主要材料とし、それらをスケルトン空間に挿入することで、粗細のコントラストが生まれる。
このコントラストが潜在的に荒々しさと繊細さが同居する企業自身を体現する要素となる。こうして生まれた研究所のような、ギャラリーのような、オフィスのようなさまざまな要素が同居したこの新オフィスが、社員の感性を刺激し新しいアイデアの原石が生まれるきっかけとなれば幸いである。（森下悠也＋畑秀幸）
An office of an IT company that embodies the corporate stance of coexisting momentum and delicacy
Office space needs to provide a comfortable working environment, and at the same time, it is also a window for visitors to understand the company. It must fully interpret the corporate image. As designers, we deeply feel the significance.
The client of this project is a rapidly growing IT company. Their team is active and young, full of energy that nurtures innovation. However, the products they developed are very sophisticated and mature.
The inspiration for innovation is originally a rough stone. After continuous polishing, it gradually appears refined and tends to be completed. From this company, we have experienced this polishing process that breeds and creates new things.
According to the client’s needs, we planned three major functional areas: the entrance hall, gallery, and lab (staff) areas. In addition, due to a large number of visitors, we have increased the visitor space and the lab space available to visit, forming an experimental gallery space based on the display.
Based on the above content, in the design of this office space, we hope to reflect the company’s characteristics and the product at the same time.
First, we reset the site back to the rough state. Different functional zones have ceilings, walls, and floors. The primary materials are stainless steel plates, metal square tubes, glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) grilles, metal grids, stained glass, and other industrial materials made finely to form a contrast effect in the rough space.
The contrast of elements in the office space subtly conveys the coexistence of rugged and delicate characteristics of corporate and product. This way, a new office space resembles a research institute, an exhibition space, and an office. We hope this space can be an opportunity to inspire innovation for employees.
