〈TEA SHOP Parvati〉は、東京都豊島区の千川駅近く、紅茶の提供と茶葉の販売を行うダージリンティー専門店。客席とキッチン、そして茶葉を一定温度で保管する倉庫で構成されているお店である。
住宅地の交差点に位置するロケーションで、より気軽にお客さんに立ち寄ってほしいという施主の要望から、1面をテイクアウトできるカウンターとし、もう1面は全開放できるよう計画した。
幸いにも、庇とテント、シャッターが既存で設置されている状態であったため、この2つの開口部に軽量で安価な中空ポリカネート板を使用し、1つは回転窓、1つは大型引戸とその開口部の使い方に合わせた窓を作成した。
今回工事のコストダウンのため、工事は分離発注方式とし、一部の工程は施主自ら工事を行うこととした。このため解体、木工事、家具工事、塗装工事、設備工事と各工事それぞれで完結する設計とした。
仕上げは前店舗の既存の木製家具を積極的に使用し、コンクリートのグレー、スタイロフォーム（断熱材）の水色と調和するよう微調整を行い、個性あふれる食器や商品が主役となる計画とした。
どんなに開放的な路面店でも、日中の屋内は暗く閉じた印象になりがちだが、この店舗では2面が開放できることを活かし、視線が通る、より開放的な店舗になるよう計画した。（畠中啓祐）
An open Darjeeling tea specialty store with two large openings that allow you to see through
“TEA SHOP Parvati” is a Darjeeling tea store near Senkawa Station in Toshima-Ku, Tokyo, serving tea and selling tea leaves. The store consists of seating, a kitchen, and a warehouse where tea leaves are stored constantly.
Located at the intersection of a residential area, the owner wanted to make it easier for customers to drop by, so one side of the shop is used as a take-out counter, and the other side can be fully opened.
Fortunately, the existing eaves, tents, and shutters were already in place, so we used lightweight and inexpensive hollow polycarbonate panels for these two openings and created windows to match the usage of the openings, one with a revolving window one with a large sliding door.
In order to reduce the cost of the project, we ordered the construction work separately, and the client decided to do some of the work himself. For this reason, the design was to be completed for each of the following works: demolition, woodwork, furniture work, painting, and equipment work.
For the finishing touches, we actively used the existing wooden furniture from the previous store. We made minor adjustments to harmonize it with the gray of the concrete and the light blue of the styrofoam (insulation material) so that the unique tableware and products would take center stage.
No matter how open a street store is, it tends to look dark and closed indoors during the daytime. (Keisuke Hatakenaka)
