〈T/K邸〉は群馬県高崎市にて計画した二世帯住宅である。
敷地向かいに広がる稲穂と連続して緑が広がるように、まとまった庭を南側に設けた。親子両世帯の住居は、この庭に沿って並んで配置される。両世帯が庭を眺められつつ、各々の世帯は見合うことがない配置関係とした。
それにより、常にお互いの生活が意識されてしまうのではなく、選択的につながることができる。同時に、庭は両世帯が共有する景色となる。庭を介して繋がる関係性が、世帯を結ぶ距離感としてちょうど良いと考えた。
このようなプランニングと併せて、各部屋の空間の彩りといったことも重要なテーマとなった。
部屋に持ち込まれる家具や飾られるモノも多く、賑やかな生活空間が想定されていた。そのため、あらかじめの建築計画で空間の質が決定的になるのではなく、細やかな設計が集積し、それらが家具と連なり、部屋の中に充満し建築と一体となった、まぜこぜの状態をつくることを思い描いた。
いくつもの色に塗られた建具や、装飾的な図柄のタイルを空間の各所にちりばめた。
色は建具から棚板や家具へと、その塗られる個所を増やし、色が空間の中に増殖していく。タイルの絵柄に見えてくる図形を抽出し、洗面所の鏡の輪郭や、三角形の小窓や手摺断面の形状に転用する。結果、バラバラとしたモノ決めの断片のようなものが集まった空間になった。
それらは、生活の側から持ち込まれる家具や食器、部屋を飾る絵画やオブジェといった、非建築な、しかし空間の質感をしっかりとつくり上げるモノと混じり合い、どこからが建物で、どこからがモノなのか定まらない宙に浮いた状態をつくり上げる。
窓の障子や棚に加えたオレンジやサファイアブルー色の色ガラスは、外光を受けて鮮やかな色彩を空間の中に落とす。季節や時刻、天候に応じて、その様子は変化し、空間の中を掻き乱す。
アクリルゴールドミラーの天井飾りは、光の図形として外光を室内へ反射させる。これらの透過する光や、フィルタリングされた像、反射した像がより一層、空間の見え方を撹拌する。
建物と家具やモノがそれら属性を超えて、色や図像として軽やかに漂う。それは、表層的で装飾的で現象的な、そのような物事の混成品のような空間ともいえるかもしれない。（園田慎二）
A two-family house where the colors of architecture and things are mixed and the existence blends together
T/K Residence” is a two-family house in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture.
The garden is located on the south side of the house so that the greenery spreads continuously with the ears of rice spreading across the site. The dwellings of the parent and child households are placed side by side along with this garden. While both households view the garden, they do not have to look at each other. This allows them to connect selectively, rather than always being aware of each other’s lives. At the same time, the garden becomes a landscape shared by both households. We thought the relationship connected through the garden would be just the right distance to connect the households.
In addition to this kind of planning, the color of the space in each room was also an important theme.
The house was expected to be a lively living space, with many furniture and decorations brought into the rooms. Therefore, the quality of the space was not determined by the architectural plan in advance but rather by the accumulation of detailed designs connected to the furniture and filled the room, creating a mixed state that became one with the architecture.
Fittings painted in various colors and tiles with decorative patterns are scattered throughout the space.
The colors multiply in the space as they are applied to more and more places, from the fittings to the shelves and furniture. The shapes that appear in the patterns of the tiles are extracted and converted into the contours of the bathroom mirror, the small triangular window, and the cross-section of the handrail. The result is a space where fragments of disparate things are gathered together.
They are mixed with furniture and tableware brought in from the daily life side, paintings and objects that decorate the room, which is non-architectural but firmly create the texture of the space, creating a state of floating in the air where it is difficult to determine where the building begins, and the objects begin.
The orange and sapphire blue colored glass added to the sliding doors and shelves of the windows catches the outside light and casts vivid colors into the space. Depending on the season, time of day, and weather conditions, the appearance of the glass changes and disturbs the space.
The acrylic gold mirror ceiling decoration reflects the outside light into the room as a figure of light. These transmitted light, filtered images, and reflected images further agitate the space looks.
The building, furniture, and objects transcend their attributes and drift lightly as colors and figures. It could be said that the space is like a hybrid of superficial, decorative, and phenomenal things. (Shinji Sonoda)
