沖縄県宮古島市に設計した地上5階建て、全25戸の集合住宅の計画である。各住戸は1LDKとし、汎用的なプランで構成している。共用部はEVと法規上不可欠な直通階段、共用廊下の構成。本計画では共用廊下と直通階段を利用し、周辺環境とどのように接続し、シークエンスをつくるかを主に検討した。
計画としては異形な敷地に準じて建物ボリュームを2つに分け、そのボリュームの間に中庭を設け、その中庭を中心に共用廊下と直通階段を配置している。蹴上げ140㎜、踏面520㎜ととても緩やか勾配の階段を上るにつれて少し薄暗い中庭から、ゆっくりと明るく視線が外へ抜けていくような階段だ。そんな法規上不可欠な直通階段を端に追いやるのではなく、中央に大きな螺旋階段のように計画している。
単純な全体構成の中で、大きな階段が周辺環境に緩やかなリズムで接続を生んでくれるのではないかと思っている。（川嶋洋平）
Apartment house that connects with the surroundings with the rhythm of a gentle straight staircase
This is a plan for a five-stories, 25-unit apartment complex designed in Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture. Each unit is a one-LDK apartment with a general-purpose plan. The common area consists of an EV, a direct staircase, and a common corridor, which is indispensable for legal reasons. In this project, we mainly examined how to create a sequence by using the common corridor and the direct staircase and how to connect them with the surrounding environment.
The building volume is divided into two volumes according to the irregular shape of the site, with a courtyard between the two volumes. The common-use corridor and direct staircase are placed around the courtyard. The staircase has a very gentle slope with dimensions of the rise of 140mm and dimensions of stairs of 520mm, and as one climbs the staircase, one’s line of sight slowly and brightly slides out of the dimly lit courtyard. Such a direct staircase, indispensable for legal reasons, is not relegated to the end of the building but is designed as a large spiral staircase in the center.
Within the simple overall composition, I believe that the large staircase will create a gentle, rhythmic connection to the surrounding environment. (Yohei Kawashima)
