関東で多数展開している焼鳥酒場、本田商店が新しいカタチのネオ居酒屋としてオープンした〈本田商店 中目黒〉。
「インダストリアル×アート」をコンセプトに、無骨な工業的（インダストリアル）デザインと、むとうりゅうすけ氏によるモダン浮世絵アートを融合させ、新しいスタイルのデザインを生み出した。
今回の最も見所となっているファサードと店内壁面のデザインは、モダン浮世絵アートの前にあるLEDネオンを縦格子と見立て、格子窓から覗き込む浮世絵を表現した。まさに「インダストリアル×アート」そのものである。
客席中央の大テーブル天板の亜鉛メッキ板や上部のカラービニル暖簾は実際に工場などで使用されるものを選定し、細部にまでこだわり計画した。店内の屋内消火栓はダミーで、実際には個室に入るための隠し扉にするなど話題になるような面白い仕掛けも取り入れた。訪れた人、店の前を通る人、写真を見た人、すべての人に印象に残るインパクトある空間になったのではないかと思う。（今福彰俊、杉山リリー、イタジマ亨季）
A restaurant featuring a façade with ukiyo-e art peeking through neon lattices
Honda Shoten Nakameguro, a yakitori bar that operates numerous yakitori bars in the Kanto region, opened as a new form of neo izakaya (Japanese-style bar).
Under the concept of “industrial x art,” a new design style was created by fusing rugged industrial design with modern ukiyo-e art by Ryusuke Muto.
The facade and interior walls of the store, which are the main attractions of the new design, are designed to look like Ukiyoe peering through a lattice window using LED neon lights in front of the modern Ukiyoe art as a vertical lattice. It is truly “industrial x art” itself.
The galvanized plate for the large table in the center of the seating area and the colored vinyl curtain above were selected from those used in factories, etc., and were planned with attention to detail. The indoor fire hydrant in the restaurant is a dummy, but in reality, it is a hidden door to enter a private room.
