シニアのご夫婦が暮らすための住宅。神奈川県大磯町、敷地はちょうど丘の頂上にあり、緑ゆたか。視線の先には相模湾が臨める。この敷地に来るといつも、時間がとてもゆっくり流れているように感じていた。設計監理では、この感覚を建物に反映できるよう常に意識した。
また、住空間としての心地よさを追求し、床暖房や全館空調を積極的に採用した。
新木場にある材木屋さんに出向き、直径900㎜ほどもあるレッドシダーの丸太を購入。これを部位ごとに適材適所で木取りし、ドアや造作家具の材料とした。
トロや赤身、中落ちなど、まるでマグロを味わうかのごとく、木と向き合った。木の特性である反りや、それに伴うゆがみを考慮し、あえて繊細なディテールを捨て、勝ち・負けをはっきりと付ける納まりにトライした。
結果、おおらかで落ち着きのある、とても「家」らしい家が完成した。この家がご夫婦のこれからの生活をより豊かにしてくれるのではないかと、期待している。（荻 逃魚、梶山英幸）
A couple's house where time flows freely and lives richly
Residence for a senior couple. The site is located at the top of a hill in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, and is rich in greenery. The view of Sagami Bay can be seen from the top of the hill. Whenever I came to this site, I felt like time passed very slowly. In the design supervision, we were always conscious of reflecting this feeling in the building.
In pursuit of a comfortable living space, floor heating, and whole-house air conditioning were actively employed.
We went to a lumber shop in Shin-Kiba and purchased red cedar logs with a diameter of about 900 mm. The logs were then used as materials for doors and furniture.
The team worked with the wood as if they were tasting tuna, including the fatty parts, the lean meat, and the medium fatty parts. Considering the characteristics of wood, such as warping and the accompanying distortion, we dared to abandon delicate details. We tried to create a structure clearly defining the winners and losers.
The result is a house that is generous, relaxing, and very much like a “home. We hope that this house will enrich the couple’s lives in the future.(Ikuro Ogi, Hideyuki Kajiyama)
