友人と家族が集まり、開放的に暮らしたいという施主の想いから、都心において開放的でのびやかに暮らせる住宅を考えた。
施主からの要望は外でビアガーデンをつくりたい、そして敷地内目一杯使い、家の中も外も大きく暮らしたいというものだった。都内でも第一種低層住居専用地域と高度地区、準防火地域、準耐火建築物ともっとも制約が厳しいなかで開放性を追求することに苦労したが、可能な限り制約を感じさせずに窓を配置し、テラス・屋上を配置し、都心の中の狭小地でも広く感じられる住宅をつくった。（平井仁康）
A residence that weaves diverse spaces indoors and out, making full use of every inch of its compact lot
The client desired a home in the city center where friends and family could gather and live freely and expansively.
The client requested an outdoor beer garden and desired to maximize the use of the entire site, aiming for a spacious living experience both inside and outside the home. Pursuing openness proved challenging within Tokyo’s most restrictive zoning—a Type 1 Low-Rise Residential District, a Height District, a Quasi-Fire Prevention District, and a Quasi-Fireproof Building—but we arranged windows, terraces, and rooftops to minimize the sense of constraint.
