愛知県春日井市の美容室の計画。
クライアントは長年ヘアカットをお願いしてきた美容師で、新規開業に伴い店舗設計の依頼である。同じこの街で生まれ育った私たちは特別な思い入れがあり、地域に根差し街に貢献できる美容室を模索した。
場所は複数の飲食店が入るテナントの角地に位置し、郵便ポストが目の前にある。頻繁に人々が郵便を投函しに来る場所でもあり、近隣の小学校の通学路の前でもある。この場所に人が留まり、これまでの風景が変わる仕掛けができないか試みた。
角地に位置することから、既存の外部と内部の区画ラインを変更し、もともと室内だった一部を外部化する事で通り抜け可能で、かつベンチを設置することで人が溜まれる場所を計画した。エントランスは外部からも見えるギャラリースペースと併設し、今後さまざまな繋がりを生む場所として活用できるようにした。
今までは通り過ぎるだけの場所に、人が留まり、人との接点が促され、新たな風景が創りだされる事を期待する。このプロジェクトを通じて、街と共に成長し、新しい価値を提供していくことを目指す。

A Hair Salon That Creates Open Space in the Neighborhood Through Downsizing
Making new scape with designing beauty salon
The client is a hairdresser who has been cutting my hair since I was in junior high school. He have requested my help in designing his new store. We both have a special connection to this town as we were both born and raised here. The goal is to create a hair salon that is rooted in the community and contributes to the town.
The location is a corner lot in a tenant building that houses several restaurants, with a mailbox right in front. It is a place where people frequently come to post their mail, and it is also in front of a school route for the nearby elementary school.
We aimed to create a place where people could linger and change the existing landscape. Given its corner location, we modified the existing external and internal boundary lines, turning a part of what was originally inside into an outside area, creating a space that can be passed through.
Additionally, we planned an external space by installing benches outside. The entrance was designed as a gallery space visible from the outside, to be used as a place that fosters various connections in the future.
We hope to transform this spot, which people used to just pass by, into a place where people can linger and interact, creating a new landscape. Through this project, we aim to grow together with the town and provide new value.
