〈LINE KYOTO〉は、LINEのエンジニアと関西圏の学生やエンジニアとのタッチポイントとなる開発拠点である。本プロジェクトでは、LINEらしい働き方を提言した「LINE STYLE = WOW」に加え、開発カルチャーである「Take Ownership」「Trust and Respect」「Be Open」を体現させることが目的とされた。
我々はこれらを達成するために「LINEらしいKYOTOらしさ」をテーマにデザインを行った。
共用廊下から続くレセプションでは、市松模様の化粧砂利に置かれたLINEのロゴで来訪者にも〈LINE KYOTO〉を感じてもらう演出をしている。
来客会議室の中には、〈LINE KYOTO〉のためだけに描き下ろされた世界に1つだけのドローイングが壁に掛けられ、こちらも来訪者を楽しませる要因となっている。
また学生を招くイベントが多いというのも〈LINE KYOTO〉の特徴の1つである。
レセプションから続く石畳のようなパネルを歩いていくと、細く薄暗い道を抜けた先にPLAY & WORK LOUNGEを配置している。スタッフはここで仕事をしたり、ときにリバーシをしたりして親交を深めることができる。通り土間のような石畳を抜けていくと、30～40人規模のイベントスペースが配置されている。
ひと続きで繋がっている土間空間の中にさまざまな居場所をつくることで、スタッフとスタッフ、スタッフとゲスト、またこれらの様子を世界のどこかで見かけた人にまで届くような「LINEらしいKYOTOらしさ」をもったオフィスをデザインした。（LINE Space Design Team）
An office space that expresses and transmits Kyoto-like character and corporate philosophy
LINE KYOTO is a development center that serves as a touchpoint between LINE engineers and students and engineers in the Kansai area. In this project, we aimed to create a work environment that embodied “LINE STYLE = WOW,” which is LINE’s way of working, as well as LINE’s development culture of “Take Ownership,” “Trust and Respect” and “Be Open.”
To achieve these goals, we designed the building around the theme of “LINE’s typical KYOTO style.”
In the reception area leading from the common corridor, the LINE logo is placed on the checkered gravel to give visitors a sense of LINE KYOTO.
There is a one-of-a-kind drawing made in the visitor’s conference room, especially for LINE KYOTO that hangs on the wall, which is another fun feature for visitors.
One of the features of LINE KYOTO is that many events are held for students.
Walking down a cobblestone-paved panel that leads from the reception area, you will pass through a narrow, dimly lit street and find the PLAY & WORK LOUNGE. Staff members can work and occasionally play Reversi here to deepen their friendships. Passing through a cobblestone pavement that resembles a dirt floor, an event space for 30 to 40 people is in this space.
By creating a variety of spaces within the continuous earthen floor space, we designed an office with a “uniquely KYOTO-like” design that would allow staff to communicate with each other, staff and guests, and even with people who might see these activities somewhere else in the world.
