沖縄県宮古島市に設計した全7戸の集合住宅の計画。敷地は住宅街に位置し、隣地にも今後建物が計画されることとなっていた。そんな中で、まだ見ぬ隣地の建物とどのように接し、どのように各住戸の環境を設計するか検討した。
計画としては7つの住戸を7つのマッシブなボリュームとし、そのボリュームを積み上げるように全体を計画している。各ボリュームは箱として外に閉じているが、積み上げられたボリュームのズレから生まれる隙間から空と接するようにしている。その結果、すべての住戸が外部の視線を切りながらコートハウスのようなプライバシーの高いテラスを有する住戸となった。
近隣環境が今後変化していこうとする中で、閉ざされたテラスだけが変わらない空を有する。そして変わらないテラスが、ほの暗い室内に光の変化を届け、時間の移り変わりを顕著に感じさせるような静かな住戸になればと思っている。（川嶋洋平）
An apartment house that secures the sky by shifting the boxes and stacking them
This is a project for a 7-unit housing complex designed in Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture. The site is located in a residential area, and there are plans to build on the adjacent land. In such a situation, we studied how to design the environment of each dwelling unit in contact with the neighboring buildings, which were yet to be seen.
The plan was to create seven massive volumes for the seven dwelling units and build up these volumes. Each volume is closed to the outside as a box, but the gaps created by the misalignment of the stacked volumes allow them to contact the sky. As a result, all the units have terraces with high privacy, like a courthouse, while cutting off the outside view.
While the neighborhood environment will change in the future, only the closed terrace will have an unchanging sky. I hope that the unchanging terrace will bring a change of light to the dark interior and that it will be a quiet dwelling where the change of time will be noticeable. (Yohei Kawashima)
