グランピングをイメージした遊び心のある美容室

千葉県流山市において新規開業した美容室の内装設計プロジェクトである。
計画地はつくばエクスプレス、流山おおたかの森駅から徒歩数分の、竣工して間もないRC造4階建ての商業ビルの3階に位置する。つくばエクスプレス開通から15年が経ったにも関わらず、その都心へのアクセスのよさからベッドタウンとしての地域ブランドを確固たるものとし、今なお開発工事が止まる気配のない流山おおたかの森だが、駅前の大規模ショッピングセンターをはじめとする充実した周辺施設の利便性や、流山市による子育て支援制度を魅力として、近年子育て世代が多く転入してきているという。

若い子育て世代が多く住むということはすなわち美容室の需要の多さを示しているが、そのぶんおのずとライバル店も多くなる。事実、当計画地の周辺には設計前の時点ですでに数店の美容室が営業している状況だった。
開発工事の目まぐるしい美容室林立地帯に新たに美容室を開業するにあたって、他店と差別化するための内装およびロゴデザインによる店舗ブランディングと、コロナ禍においても安心して来店できるような美容室の新しい在り方を示すことが求められた。

店舗名にもあるようにPLAYFUL（遊び心がある）な雰囲気にしたいという施主からの要望と、おおたかの森という緑豊かな土地の地域性を掛け合わせ、「グランピング」のイメージを店舗の意匠的なコンセプトとした。インテリアチームによる内装設計、グラフィックチームによるロゴおよび名刺・エプロンなどのデザイン、またメディアチームによる店舗内BGM音源の作成といったように、ROOM810の各部門がもつ技術の総力を挙げて取り組んだことで、一貫した店舗ブランディングを可能とした。

また、コロナ禍においても密な接触をどうしても避けることのできない美容室という営業形態に対する解答を示すことも本計画の大きな主題の1つだった。ソーシャルディスタンスを考慮し客席間の距離を十分にとった平面計画、店舗内の空気を常に新鮮に保つ十分な換気設備計画、飛沫防止のアクリル板や消毒・検温のための最新機器を組み込んだ造作受付カウンターの設置などによって、アフターコロナ・ウィズコロナの時代における新しい美容室の在り方を体現するような設えとした。（齋藤悠）

A playful beauty salon with the image of glamping

This is an interior design project for a newly opened beauty salon in Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture.
The project site is located on the third floor of a recently completed four-story RC commercial building just a few minutes walk from Nagareyama Otakanomori Station on the Tsukuba Express. Despite the fact that 15 years have passed since the opening of the Tsukuba Express, Nagareyama Otakanomori has firmly established its brand as a bedroom community due to its easy access to the city center, and there is still no sign of stopping the development work. Furthermore, the convenience of the large shopping center in front of the station and other facilities in the area and Nagareyama City’s child-rearing support system have attracted many people of parenting generation to the area in recent years.

The fact that there are many young people raising children living in the area means that there is a lot of demand for beauty salons, which in turn means that there will be a lot of rival stores. There were already several beauty salons operating in the vicinity of this project site before it was designed.
To open a new beauty salon in a rapidly developing of beauty salons area, we were asked to create a branding for the interior and logo design that would differentiate the store from others and to show a new way of being a beauty salon that would allow customers to visit the store without worrying about the under the circumstances of COVID-19.

Combining the client’s request for a playful atmosphere as the store’s name implies and the regional characteristics of the lush greenery of Otakanomori, we decided to use the image of “glamping” as the design concept of the store. The interior design team designed the interior, the graphic team designed the logo, business cards, aprons, etc., and the media team created the background music for the store. The collective efforts of the various departments of ROOM810 made it possible to create consistent store branding. The result is integrated store branding.

In addition, one of the main themes of this project was to provide an answer to the business form of beauty salons, where close contact is inevitable. Therefore, the plan was designed with sufficient distance between the seats considering social space, an adequate ventilation system to keep the air in the store fresh, and a reception counter with splash-proof acrylic panels and the latest equipment for disinfection and temperature inspection.
