兵庫県西宮市の閑静な住宅街の一画にある敷地は、L字の道路の突き当りにあり、この道路部分が唯一外部へと抜けのある場所であった。また、クライアントはアウトドアや自然のある場所を好まれるご家族であり、どこかに外部で遊べる場所を求められていた。しかしながら、本敷地は100m²の狭小地で外部に庭を設けることが困難であった。
そこで、抜けのある道路を内部へと繋げた中間領域をつくることをコンセプトとした。
道路の直線状にダイニングスペースを設け、外部を感じることのできるオープンなスペースとした。外部に見立てたウッドデッキの材料を使用した床材や木製サッシで囲むなどのしつらえを行い、内部でありながら外部空間のような開放感のあるスペースとした。
ガラスで囲むことにより、ここからリビングスペースやキッチンスペースへと光を取り入れるゾーニングとした。
都市部の狭小地で採光や外部の庭スペースを設けにくい敷地であったが、外部を感じることのできる内部空間を設けることにより光を取り込み、家族が豊かに生活を楽しむことのできる中間領域のある家となった。（水本純央）
A house with an intermediate area that looks like a dining room facing the road
This project is located in a quiet residential area in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The site is located at the end of an L-shaped road, and this part of the road was the only place with an exit to the outside. The client is a family that likes the outdoors and nature, and they wanted a place where they could play outside. However, the site was a narrow 100m² lot, making it difficult to create a garden outside.
Therefore, the concept was to create an intermediate area connected to the interior by an open road.
The dining space was created in a straight road line, creating an open space where the outside could feel. The flooring is made of wood deck material and surrounded by wooden sashes, creating an open space that feels like an exterior space even though it is an interior space.
By enclosing the space with glass, the zoning allows light to enter the living room and kitchen space.
The narrow urban site made providing light and exterior garden space difficult. Still, by creating an interior space that feels like an exterior space, light is brought in, and a house with an intermediate area is created where the family can enjoy a rich life. (Sumiou Mizumoto)
