群馬県伊勢崎市にある夫婦と子供のための住宅。敷地は西側道路に面した東西30m超の細長い敷地で、北奥には赤城山の裾野が東西に広がる。南面は旗竿地の私有地となるため、人の通りは少ない。
建築主はアウトドアが趣味のため、ご要望は「山小屋のような住宅、かつ、動線が明確で住みやすいシンプルな住宅」であった。
平面計画は、敷地形状を存分に生かし、南面にできる限りの空間を配置し、そのすべてを開口部とし、光と風を取り入れる計画とした。敷地西側には駐車スペース、東側には家庭菜園スペース、南面には建物幅と同寸法の庭スペースを確保している。
外壁材に国産スギ板を、屋根に矩勾配を採用し、南北ともに軒を通し「山小屋」を完成させた。軒の高さを抑えることでプライバシーを確保するとともに、夏期の日射を抑え、建物のバランスを整えた。（高橋一真）
Simple house with a 45-degree sloping roof like a mountain hut
A house for a couple and their child in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture. The site is a long, narrow lot measuring over 30m east to west facing the west side road, with the foot of Mt. Akagi stretching east to west at the far north. The site’s south side is a private flagpole lot, so there are few pedestrians on the street.
The owner enjoys outdoor activities, so he wanted a “simple house that resembles a mountain cabin and is easy to live in, with clear lines of flow.
The plan was designed to take full advantage of the site shape, placing as much space as possible on the south side, with all openings to let in light and wind. In addition, a parking space is located on the west side of the site, a vegetable garden space on the east side, and a garden space the same size as the width of the building on the south side.
Japanese cedar shingles were used for the exterior walls, and a 45-degree-sloped roof was adopted to complete the “mountain hut” with eaves that run both north and south. The height of the eaves was kept low to ensure privacy, reduce solar radiation in the summer, and balance the building. (Kazuma Takahashi)
