JR西明石駅前にあるHOTEL PREFROTのラウンジの改修計画である。
ホテルのコンセプトはホテル名にもあるように「PREFORT＝上品・くつろぎ・ゆっくり」であるが、明石という立地条件が加味されていないことと、具体的に何を明言して今後ハードやソフト面の基準となさるか悩まれていた。
私たちはPREFORTをもっと具体的にすべく、ホテルコンセプトの刷新を行った。
海の近くである西明石という場所、ホテルのベースとなっている、安らいで欲しいという想い。
それらを、五感をもって感じていただけるよう視覚・聴覚・嗅覚・味覚・触覚においてお客様に何らか感じていただけるようにできないかを提案した。
そこで私たちはSEASE（シーズ）という造語をコンセプトとした。SEA EASE SENSEを組み合わせた言葉だ。
このSEASE（シーズ）というコンセプトをもって、お客様の目に触れやすいラウンジを計画した。SEAは水面・泡・青、EASEは囲われたソファスペースを中心とするゾーニング、SENSEはホテルオリジナルの香りや特殊なガラスを使用した動きのある水面感。
宿泊のお客様を五感の何かをもって癒しゆっくりとくつろいでいただける場所を目指し、ホテルのブランディング強化の一端を担う計画とした。（武田憲昭＋吉澤生馬）
A hotel lounge renovated with a design that allows you to feel the ocean with all five senses
This project is to renovate HOTEL PREFROT’s lounge in front of JR Nishi-Akashi Station.
The concept of the hotel is “PREFORT” (refined, relaxed, and leisurely). Still, the location of Akashi was not taken into account, and there were concerns about what to specify in terms of hardware and software standards in the future.
We have renewed the hotel concept to make PREFORT more concrete.
The location of Nishi-Akashi, near the sea and the hotel’s base, makes the desire for guests feel at ease.
We proposed that the hotel should offer guests a sense of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch so that they could feel these sensations with all five senses.
We, therefore, coined the term “SEASE” to describe our concept.
It is a combination of the words SEA EASE SENSE.
With this SEASE concept, we planned a lounge that would be easily accessible to guests: SEA for a surface of the water, bubbles, and blue; EASE is zoning around the enclosed sofa space; and SENSE for the hotel’s original fragrance and the sense of a moving surface of the water using special glass.
The plan was designed to be a place where guests can relax and heal with something from all five senses and to play a part in strengthening the hotel’s branding. (Noriaki Takeda + Ikuma Yoshizawa)
