重要伝統建築物として認定されている、伊根の舟屋をリノベーションした1棟貸しの宿。
近年、舟屋が人気になったことで観光客やインバウンド需要が増えたが、山と海に挟まれたこの集落には娯楽施設やコンビニもなく、街灯も少ない静かな住宅地である。宿泊者は周辺の散策か建物の内部でゆったり過ごす時間が多くなるため、滞在時間の豊かさを追求した計画とした。
伊根の集落は道路を境に山側に母屋（生活拠点）海側に蔵と舟屋（生業）という配置になっており、建物の間や舟屋の隙間に切り取られた海が見える。〈FUNAYA 藏〉もそういった暗い室内を介して海に視線が抜けるような空間を目指した。
機能としては、1階に簡単な料理のできるキッチン・リビング・水回り、2階に2つの寝室・浴室がある。浴室にはサウナを設け、隣接するデッキで外気浴が楽しめるようになっている。
既存の構造体は天井が低く、現しとなる部分の新旧を繋げるような仕上げを目指した。
また、施主の漁師業で出る鯛の鱗や牡蠣殻といった廃材を漉き込んだ和紙を、インテリアに使用している。（大垣優太）
Accommodation renovated from a "boathouse in Ine" that seems to float on the sea
A renovated boathouse in Ine, recognized as an essential traditional building, is now available for rent.
In recent years, the popularity of boathouses has led to increased tourist and inbound demand, but this village between the mountains and the sea is a quiet residential area with no recreational facilities or convenience stores and few streetlights. Since guests spend most of their time either strolling around the area or relaxing inside the building, the plan was designed to enrich their stay.
The village of Ine is arranged with the main house (living base) on the mountainside, and the warehouses and boathouses (livelihood) on the seaside, with the sea cut off between the buildings and gaps between the boathouses. FUNAYA KURA” also aims to create a space that allows the view to pass through the dark interior to the sea.
The kitchen, living room, and bathroom are on the first floor, and the two bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor. The bathroom has a sauna and an adjacent deck for outdoor bathing.
The existing structure has low ceilings, and the goal was to create a finish that would connect the old and the new in the areas that would be exposed.
Japanese paper made from waste materials such as sea bream scales and oyster shells from the client’s fishing business is used for the interior. (Yuta Ogaki)
