宮崎県に建つ、夫婦と子供3人の5人家族の住まい。多忙を極める主人は留守にすることが多く、強固な防犯性とプライバシー確保が要望であった。
隣地境界上をRC造の壁で囲い込み、隣地からの侵入と視線を遮断し、居住スペースやテラスや駐車場までCLT大屋根で覆っている。テラスに面する開口やトップライトから入るさまざまな光は刻々と変化し、閉じながらも圧倒的に開放的で光に溢れる晴れやかな住まいである。（中園美博、小川敏之）
A house open to the sky covered by a large CLT roof
A house for a family of five, a couple and their three children, in Miyazaki Prefecture. The owner, who is extremely busy and is often away from home, wanted a strong security system and privacy.
The boundary of the neighboring property is enclosed by a RC wall to block intrusion and sight lines from the neighboring property, and the living space, terrace, and parking lot are covered by a CLT roof. The various kinds of light coming in from the openings facing the terrace and from the top lights change from moment to moment, creating an overwhelmingly open, light-filled, and sunny residence, even though it is closed.
