〈vanhotel（バンホテル）〉は、車を小さな建築として捉え、動くホテルの客室として設計した。
単に車両としてではなく可動する一室として、寸法計画や視線の抜け、採光・通風、収納計画、素材の切り替え方までを住宅やホテルと同等以上の精度で設計している。
国産材を中心とした木質空間と、必要十分な機能、光の当て方によって、限られた体積の中でも“居場所”が自然に立ち上がるように計画した。停める位置や窓の向きを変えるだけで、海辺にも森にも街角にも、その時だけに現れる小さな建築である。
旅先の風景を取り込みながら、移動と滞在のあいだに新しい関係をつくる「動く建築のプロトタイプ」として、利用者に新たな体験を提供している。

A mobile hotel with enhanced livability
“vanhotel” treats the vehicle as a small architectural structure, designed as a mobile hotel room.
Rather than merely a vehicle, it is conceived as a movable room. Every aspect—from dimensional planning and sightlines to lighting, ventilation, storage solutions, and material transitions—is designed with precision equal to or exceeding that of a home or hotel.
Centered around domestic timber, the wooden interior, combined with essential functionality and thoughtful lighting, creates a natural sense of “place” within the limited volume. Simply changing its parking spot or window orientation transforms it into a small architecture that appears uniquely for that moment—by the sea, in the forest, or on a city corner.
As a “prototype of mobile architecture,” it creates new relationships between travel and stay while incorporating the destination’s scenery, offering users a fresh experience.
