築50年ほどの別荘がもつポテンシャルを活かし、貸別荘として改修を行った。
敷地から望む海の景色を最大限に引き出すため、海側に面していた壁面はすべてガラスへと置き換えている。また、かつて壁によって閉じられていたエントランス周辺の構成を見直し、建物に足を踏み入れた瞬間から、視線とともに海を感じられる空間へと再構成した。
時間を重ねてきた建物の魅力を丁寧に引き継ぐため、本計画のテーマを「ノスタルジックとモダンが重なる、ハイセンスな宿」と設定している。今は手に入らない素材、今の時代にしか存在し得ない素材。それぞれの個性を活かしながら、新しさと懐かしさが共存する空間を目指した。親しみやすさの中に非日常がにじむ、ここにしかない滞在体験を計画している。
素材、景色、静けさ。それらが穏やかに響き合い、心と身体が自然と整っていく場所。暮らすように過ごせる一方で、流れる時間はどこか日常から切り離されている。
喧騒からそっと距離を置き、自分自身を取り戻すためのひとときを提供する宿である。

A vacation rental where novelty and nostalgia coexist
We renovated this approximately 50-year-old vacation home to maximize its potential as a rental property.
To fully capture the ocean views from the site, all walls facing the sea were replaced with glass. We also reconfigured the previously walled-off entrance area, creating a space where guests feel the ocean’s presence the moment they step inside.
To carefully preserve the charm of this time-honored building, the project’s theme was set as “A sophisticated retreat where nostalgia and modernity converge.” Materials are no longer readily available today, yet they are unique to this era. While embracing each material’s unique character, the goal was to create a space where novelty and nostalgia coexist. We planned a stay experience found only here, where the extraordinary subtly permeates a familiar atmosphere.
Materials, scenery, tranquility. Where these elements gently resonate, naturally aligning mind and body. A place to live like a local, yet where time flows somehow detached from the ordinary.
This is a lodging that offers a moment to distance oneself from the clamor and rediscover oneself gently.
