〈and father〉は、これまでの活動を経て、新たな拠点として2店舗目を構えることになった。新しい場所をつくるにあたっても、意味や役割を過度に与えるのではなく、人が入り、服が並び、時間が積み重なっていく中で、使われ方が定まっていくことを前提としている。
本店舗では、1店舗目とは異なる距離感や密度をもつ場であることも意識した。近くにあれば立ち寄りたくなる場所ではなく、そこへ向かう時間そのものを含めて体験として成立するような、少し踏み込んだ位置づけとして捉えている。
既存のスケールを受け止めながら、その内側に1つの箱を差し込むような構成とした。入口から奥へと連続する床・壁・天井を同一の素材でまとめ、通路のような、トンネルのような奥行きをつくっている。
家具や什器はすべて特注で製作している。ハンガーラックや什器は、動線に沿って配置し、流れを遮らないことを優先した。形や寸法を抑え、使われ方に余白が残る距離感を意識している。
奥へ進むにつれて、外の気配が少しずつ薄れていき、自然と足が前に向く構成とした。単純な一室にならないよう、奥行き方向の見え方や、フレームの重なり方を調整し、進むごとに感じ方が変わるようにしている。素材や色数は必要最低限にとどめ、使い方を決め切らないことを前提とした。
服が置かれ、人が入り、時間が積み重なることで、少しずつこの場所のあり方が定まっていくことを想定している。
〈and father〉は、奥に入りたくなる感覚をそのままかたちにし、服と向き合う時間が自然に生まれるように考えた場所である。

A boutique that embodies the urge to explore its depths
Through its past endeavors, 〈and father〉 has decided to open a second store as a new base of operations. In creating this new space, the premise is not to impose excessive meaning or function upon it, but rather to allow its purpose to emerge naturally as people enter, clothes are displayed, and time accumulates.
We were also conscious of creating a space with a different sense of distance and density compared to the first store. We view it not as a place people drop by because it’s nearby, but as a destination that offers an experience encompassing the journey itself—a space that requires a bit more effort to reach.
While embracing the space’s existing scale, we designed the interior as if inserting a single box into it. We unified the floors, walls, and ceilings—which extend continuously from the entrance to the back—using a single material, creating a sense of depth reminiscent of a passageway or tunnel.
All furniture and fixtures were custom-made. Hanger racks and fixtures were arranged along the flow of movement, prioritizing the avoidance of obstructions. We kept shapes and dimensions minimal, consciously creating a sense of distance that leaves room for flexibility in their use.
As one proceeds deeper, the presence of the outside gradually fades, naturally guiding the foot forward. To prevent the space from feeling like a simple single room, we adjusted the visual perspective along the depth and the overlapping of frames, ensuring that the experience changes with each step. We limited the materials and color palette to the bare minimum, assuming the space’s specific use would not be predetermined.
We envision that as clothes are placed here, people enter, and time accumulates, the character of this space will gradually take shape.
〈and father〉 is a space designed to embody the instinct to venture deeper, creating an environment where time spent engaging with clothing arises naturally.
