一番の命題として与えられたのは、馬と一緒に暮らせる家ということであった。家で馬を飼い、馬の顔を見ながら暮らし、そこで乗馬する環境をつくること。富士山が見える敷地を選び、自然を感じながら暮らすこと。
コロナによる在宅リモート業務が普及したからこそ、実現できるようになった暮らしを目指した。都心のマンション暮らしから一変して、郊外で暮らし、リモートで仕事をし、合間に馬の世話をしながら馬に乗り、ときどき必要に応じて東京に出掛けて仕事をする。
一方で、郊外に暮らすから、夫婦2人で寂しく過ごすのではなく、友人や親戚を招いて楽しめる家にしたい。テラスでBBQをしたり、乗馬を見てもらったり、ゲストを呼んで人が集まる家にしたい。住宅とホテルの間にあるような、そのどちらでもあるような住まいとなった。（岡本 大）
A hospitable house where people live with horses and nature
The most important order given to us was a house where they can live with horses. With horses in a house, they want to live while seeing their face, and also riding horses just in front of a house.
They used to live in Tokyo, and now they decided to start living in the suburbs. They love nature, they love horses, and they needed a huge land to ride horses. So, only when needed, they travel to Tokyo, but that doesn’t mean they are ok living lonely for just the two of them in the suburbs. They wanted to keep special time with friends and relatives.
To realize their order, this house became a residence that lies somewhere between a house and a hotel, and is both of them, so that people gather around them as before. (Masaru Okamoto)
