中国の山西省大同市に位置する〈シルクロードタワー（Silk Road Tower）〉は、シルクロードの出発点に建てられた文化的ランドマークです。

全面を稼動するLEDスクリーンに包まれたタワーであり、重慶を拠点とするデザインコンサルティング企業 XJデザインエージェンシー（XJ Design Agency）が設計しました。

北魏の都・平城（現在の山西省大同市）は、シルクロード東端の歴史的座標であり、かつてラクダの鈴の音が響き渡った旅路の起点である。

この地に〈シルクロードタワー〉と名付けた現代的文化ランドマークが建立した。それは単なる静的な記念碑ではなく、技術の奔流の中で文化的遺伝子が鮮やかに成長し、絶え間なく反復する姿を体現する存在である。

「成長と反復」デザインのコア概念

〈シルクロードタワー〉の設計理念は、「成長」と「反復」という2つの概念に根ざしている。

平城がシルクロードの起点（0km地点）として歴史的なアンカーポイントであることに加え、時代を超えて息づくシルクロード精神の生命力を象徴している。本プロジェクトは、最先端技術を融合させることで、この古代の文化的象徴に新たな表現形態を与えることを目指している。

「造形言語」凍結された起点と開かれた旅路

このタワーは、厳粛で洗練された幾何学的形態によって上方へと成長するような構成となっている。高さ14mというスケールは都市環境に溶け込みながらも、記念碑としての存在感を確立する。

安定した基部は歴史の蓄積を背負い、突出した「0km起点」の標識は、地理的座標を永遠の精神的起源へと昇華させている。

基部上部のドーム構造には6方向に壮大なアーチ門が開かれ、建築的語彙であると同時に、シルクロードの精神そのものの具現化となっている。

それは、平城から中央アジア、西アジア、南アジア、そしてさらに遠い世界へと広がり、開放、包容、相互接続という永遠のテーマを象徴している。

「技術的脈動」動的な物語と未来へのインターフェース

〈シルクロードタワー〉の9層からなる本体は、文化と技術が交差する先駆的なキャンバスである。

ダイナミックスキン：動く外皮としての建築

タワーは鉄骨構造によって構築され、全面がLEDスクリーンに覆われている。これにより、建築外皮は広大な連続ディスプレイ面を形成し、単なる静的なカーテンウォールではなく、コンピューター制御による「スマートキャンバス」として機能する。各層には独立した油圧駆動システムが備えられ、建築全体が生命体のように動的に変化する。

生命のリズム：呼吸する建築

北魏の古都・平城の地にそびえる〈シルクロードタワー〉は、歴史の深みに根ざしながら未来を抱擁する建築である。現代建築の言語と先端技術を通じて、「開放・交流・協力」というシルクロード精神の核心を現代に再解釈し、新しい技術形態によってその発展と再生を継続させ得ることを伝えている。

Here, we have erected a modern cultural landmark named “Silk Road Tower” – it is not merely a static memorial but a vivid growth and continuous iteration of cultural genes in the torrent of technology.

1, Core Concept: The Starting Point of Growth, the Trajectory of Iteration
The design soul of the Silk Road Tower is deeply rooted in the dual concepts of “growth” and “iteration”. It is not only the historical anchor point of Pingcheng as the 0-kilometer starting point of the Silk Road but also symbolizes the vigorous vitality of the Silk Road spirit throughout time. By integrating modern cutting-edge technology, we attempt to endow the ancient cultural symbol with a new form of expression.

2, Form Language: The Frozen Starting Point, the Open Journey
The tower body grows upward in a solemn and refined geometric form. At 14 meters in height, it not only integrates into the urban scale but also retains a sense of monumental grandeur. The stable base carries the weight of historical accumulation, and the prominent “0-kilometer starting point” sign elevates the geographical coordinate to an eternal spiritual origin. The dome structure above opens six grand arched doors in all directions, which is not only an architectural vocabulary but also a concrete manifestation of the Silk Road spirit – from Pingcheng, it embraces Central Asia, West Asia, South Asia, and even the farthest corners of the world, symbolizing the eternal themes of openness, inclusiveness, and interconnection.

3, Technological Pulse: Dynamic Narration, Future Interface
The nine-story main body of the Silk Road Tower is a pioneering canvas where culture and technology converge:

* Dynamic Skin: The nine-story tower is constructed with steel structures and covered with advanced LED screens, forming a vast continuous display surface. This is not a static curtain wall but a “smart canvas” driven by a sophisticated computer system. Each floor is equipped with an independent hydraulic drive system.

* Life Rhythm: Every minute, the hydraulic system gives the tower a “breath” – the LED screen units gracefully expand and reorganize according to precise instructions, breaking the static outline of the building. This regular dynamic performance is not only a wondrous transformation of physical form but also a flowing theater of digital content. The screen images respond accordingly, presenting the epic of the Silk Road with solitary smoke in the desert and the setting sun on the long river, or showcasing the brilliant scenes of the contemporary “Digital Silk Road”, or interpreting the growth and transformation of abstract cultural symbols.
