北軽井沢の豊かな森に佇む〈NOT A HOTEL KITAKARUIZAWA IRORI〉は、「囲炉裏」をモチーフに、人が自然と集い、語らう場として設計されたヴィラ型の建築である。
ガラスの開放感と木の温もりが調和し、中央に据えられた囲炉裏を中心に、内と外が緩やかに繋がる構成となっている。 四季折々の森の風景や光、風、炎の揺らぎを五感で感じながら、自然と建築が一体となる体験を生み出す。2棟のうち1棟はドッグランを備えたペットフレンドリーモデルで、2025年にはインフィニティプールやソファ席を新設した「IRORI 2.0」を発表。日常と非日常のあわいに身を委ね、森の中で時を味わうための建築である。

A villa where the interior and exterior blend seamlessly around the central hearth
Nestled in the lush forests of Kitakaruizawa, NOT A HOTEL KITAKARUIZAWA IRORI is a villa-style residence designed around the concept of an “irori” hearth—a place where people naturally gather and converse.
Blending the openness of glass with the warmth of wood, the layout centers around a modern irori, softly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. The architecture invites guests to experience the forest through all five senses, with seasonal scenery, flickering firelight, and the movement of air and light. One of the two villas is pet-friendly with a private dog run. In 2025, the updated IRORI 2.0 introduced a new infinity pool and sofa lounge, enhancing the comfort of this tranquil retreat. It is a place where the boundary between everyday life and escape gently dissolves—a space to savor time in the heart of the forest.
