文響社の新オフィスは、「うんこドリル」で一世を風靡した同社の創造性を体現しつつ、出版という知的創造の場にふさわしい空間づくりを目指した。出版社としての知的な遊び心を誘発する「期待感」、集中を支える適度な「緊張感」、そして社内外の交流を自然に生む「一体感」を兼ね備えている。
エントランスに足を踏み入れると、角の取れた柔らかな天井や壁が温かみのある素材とともに来訪者を包み込み、文響社らしい柔和な社風を感じさせる。ビル最上階という立地を活かし、来客エリアはエントランスから窓面へとまっすぐ導かれる構成とし、執務エリアは窓に面するようベース席を配置した。自然光と眺望を最大限に取り込み、開放感と集中性を両立している。
また、躯体のガラス面が天井高の約3分の2である特性を設計基準として活かし、内装のガラス面や垂れ壁、腰壁、家具の高さまで寸法を揃えることで、建築から家具までが一体的に感じられる空間を実現した。廊下中央に設けた大きなカウンターは、デザイナーの発信や社員同士の交流の中心として機能し、スタンド型のカフェカウンターやソファ席など多様な居場所が働く姿勢や気分の切り替えを柔軟に支えている。
さらに、陶芸家・故金あかり氏による陶器作品や、光伸プランニングが制作した3Dプリントの「うんこ先生」オブジェが随所に配置され、文響社ならではの遊び心と創造精神を空間に深く刻み込んでいる。

Bunkyosha’s new office was designed to embody the company’s creativity—which took the world by storm with its “Unko Drill” series—while creating a space befitting the intellectual creativity inherent in publishing. It combines a sense of “anticipation” that sparks intellectual playfulness as a publishing house, a moderate “sense of tension” that supports concentration, and a “sense of unity” that naturally fosters interaction both within and outside the company.
Upon entering the lobby, visitors are enveloped by soft, rounded ceilings and walls combined with warm materials, evoking Bunkyosha’s characteristic gentle corporate culture. Taking advantage of its location on the top floor of the building, the layout guides visitors straight from the entrance to the windows, while the work area features base workstations positioned to face the windows. By maximizing natural light and views, the space successfully balances openness with the ability to concentrate.
Furthermore, the design capitalizes on the building’s structural feature—where the glass facade spans approximately two-thirds of the ceiling height—by aligning the heights of interior glass surfaces, drop ceilings, wainscoting, and furniture. This creates a space where everything from the architecture to the furnishings feels seamlessly integrated. A large counter in the center of the hallway serves as a hub for designers to share ideas and for employees to interact. In contrast, diverse seating options—such as freestanding café counters and sofa seating—flexibly accommodate changes in posture and mood.
Furthermore, ceramic works by the late ceramic artist Akari Kan and a 3D-printed “Unko-sensei” sculpture produced by Hikari Shin Planning are placed throughout the space, deeply imbuing it with Bunkyosha’s unique sense of playfulness and creative spirit.
