長らく地域の教育・保育を担ってきたこども園の建替え。新園舎になっても愛着をもってもらい、子供たちの原風景となるよう、赤い土の丘陵地にある畑に馴染んだ佇まいとした。
風景の大らかなスケール感を反映した屋根の下には、屋内・屋外に広い廊下のように、駆け回れる連続的な見通しの良い空間があり、遊びを誘発するとともに、見守りやすくしている。
また、ランチにも使える広い屋外デッキにはベンチや庇、階段などを設け、内外を遊びの場として連続的に利用できる。中央にある遊戯室に玄関や調理室などの諸室を隣接することで、ランチルームや預かり保育の場として利用できるようにした。（本瀬あゆみ＋齋田武亨）
A red-roofed Kindergarten nestled in a field of red soil
This is a reconstruction of a children’s preschool that has long been responsible for education and childcare in the community. To ensure that the new preschool would remain attached to the new building and become the original landscape for the children, the appearance of the new building was designed to blend in with the fields on the hillside of red soil.
Under the roof, which reflects the generous scale of the landscape, there is a continuous, clear space to run around, like a wide corridor indoors and outdoors, inducing play and making it easy to watch over the children.
In addition, the large outdoor deck, which can be used for lunch, has benches, eaves, and stairs to provide a continuous play area both inside and outside. The central playroom is adjacent to various rooms, including an entrance and a kitchen, which can be used as a lunchroom or a childcare place. (Ayumi Motose + Takeyuki Saita)
