内周空間を再考した住まい

園庭に線を描くと内周が生まれ、振る舞いが生まれる。
園庭に線を描くように建物内部に什器を配置し、「内周空間」の振る舞いを生み出すことができないかと考えた。
本計画は、1981年竣工の中古マンション（RC造）のリノベーション計画である。東京近郊の敷地周辺は、1980年代に東京都心隣接エリアでのマンション供給が盛んとなり、住戸に加えて公園や緑地の設置などが行われた。計画建物のマンションは、複数の中庭を囲うように配置され、各住戸から緑を臨むことができるプランとなっている。
依頼主（夫婦2人暮らし）は、荷物量が多く、大きな収納を必要としていた。また、なるべく広々とした住まいを求めていたため、「塊」としての収納を帯状に引き延ばした「帯収納」を提案し、解放感のある住戸を目指した。

RC造のマンションは梁型が大きく圧迫感があり、梁型によって空間が区切られていることが多い。既存の本物件も同様で、床面積は70㎡を超えるが、空間の伸びやかさが失われていた。そこで、帯収納に呼応するようにして梁下にL型の庇を設けた。リビング、ダイニング、キッチン、寝室と各用途を貫く庇は空間を伸びやかに連続させ広がりを与える。
また、L庇には30mmのスリットを設けている。そこにライン照明を設置することで、光の連続性を生み出し空間の一体感をいっそう生み出す仕掛けとした。梁から漏れる光が梁の存在感を薄め、見付け幅の小さい庇が、水平ラインを強調する。

帯収納とL庇を壁際に配置したことで、「内周空間」を生み出した。そこは収納としての用途だけでなく、ダイニングチェア、テレビ台、展示台、机と、その場の用途や環境に応じてモノや人の振る舞いが変わる空間である。帯収納の家は、日々の生活の中でさまざまな使われ方を誘発し、振る舞いを発見する住居である。（田中裕大、田中彩湖）

A house that reconsidered the inner space

When you draw a line in a schoolyard, an inner perimeter is created, and behavior is born. I wondered if it would be possible to create the inner perimeter space’s behavior by placing fixtures inside the building as if drawing lines.

This project is a renovation project of an old condominium (RC structure) completed in 1981. The site is located in Toyo. In the 1980s, the supply of condominiums in the area adjoining the center of Tokyo increased, and parks and green areas were built in addition to the residential units. The condominiums are arranged around several courtyards so that each unit can enjoy a view of the greenery.

The client, a couple living together, had a lot of luggage and needed large storage space. They also wanted a home with as much openness as possible, so we proposed a “Linear storage” that stretched out the “mass storage” into a belt-like structure.
In RC condominiums, the building’s beam shape is large and oppressive, and space is often divided by the beam shape. Therefore, even if the floor space is large, it often loses its openness. So, we propose an L-shaped eave under the beam in response to the Linear storage. The eaves extending from the living room to the dining room, kitchen, and study rooms give a sense of continuity and expansiveness to space.

We created a 30mm slit in the L-shaped eaves. Line lighting is installed to create a continuity of light and further create a sense of unity in the space. The beams’ light spilling diminishes the presence of the beams, and the small eaves emphasize the horizontal line.

I placed the Linear storage and Leaves near the wall to create an inner perimeter space. This space can be used for storage and as a dining chair, TV stand, display stand, desk, and drying place. The behavior of things and people changes according to the use of the place, enriching the inner space’s action.

The Linear storage House is a home that inspires and discovers various ways of use and behavior in daily life. (Yuta Tanaka, Ayako Tanaka)
