螺旋状の動線で4世代の距離感をつくり出す住宅リノベーション

〈G町の立体廻廊〉は、丁寧にメンテナンスしながら住み継がれていた築100年の農家住宅を、新たに2世代3人が加わり、4世代5人家族が同居するための改修計画である。
まず、昭和期にリフォームされた窮屈な部屋割りを撤去、吹き抜けを設け、みんなが集まれる広いダイニングキッチンスペースに変えた。
各室は既存の間取りを踏襲、既存壁床を耐震補強し丁寧なリフォームを行い、加えてかつて畑や遊び場として活用されていた裏庭を再び使える庭に戻した。
次にそれらバラバラの場所を1本の動線でスムーズにつないだ。具体的には、急勾配であった階段は緩やかな階段につくり変え、1階と2階をつないだ。既存の柱や梁をかわしながら、緩やかなスロープでぐるりと回り、2階各室への動線とした。さらに2階窓から飛び出し裏庭へ延長した。
引き伸ばされた動線によって、多方向に視線が展開し、人と空気が流れ、多世代が住むに見合う距離をつくり、家と敷地全体が伸び伸びと使われる状態へと変化した。
本計画は、面的に空間をつくっていく方法ではなく、すでにそこにある空間を繋ぐのか、近づけるのか、または離すのかといったように距離を再構成することで、線的に広がりをつくるリノベーション手法である。（小松一平）

Renovation of a house where spiral flow lines create a sense of distance for four generations

“Corridor of G-cho” is a renovation project for a 100-year-old farmhouse that had been carefully maintained and passed down from generation to generation, with the addition of three new members from two generations to make a family of four generations and five living together.
First, we removed the cramped room layout remodeled in the Showa era, created an atrium, and turned it into a large dining kitchen space where everyone could gather.
In addition, the backyard, which was once used as a field and playground, was turned into a usable garden again.

Specifically, we transformed the steep slope staircase into a gentle staircase to connect the first and second floors. While dodging the existing pillars and beams, a gentle slope leads around to the rooms on the second floor. We also extended it from the second-floor window to the backyard.
This extended line of flow allows the eye to expand in many directions, people and air to flow, creating a distance suitable for multi-generational living, and transforming the house and the entire site into a state where residents can use it in a relaxed manner.
This project is a renovation method that creates a linear expansion by reconfiguring the distance between the existing spaces, connecting them, bringing them closer, or separating them. (Ippei Komatsu)
