最小必要寸法が決まっている、ヘッドスパサロン、ボディエステサロン、アイラッシュサロンと付随するいくつかの機能を33m²の中に組み込む、東京・自由が丘で営まれるサロンの拡張移転プロジェクトである。
必要な作業スペースや動線に対して、可動間仕切りによる可変性や、各部屋間の音の考え方、空調設備の効率的な配置など、すべてが最小限の空間を成立するための検討事項になる。コンパクトなスペースの中にいかにスムーズな動線をつくりながら、クライアントのイメージに近付けることができるのか、総合的な計画が求められた。
斜線が印象的なファサードのスチール窓は客席の正面の壁に美しい影を落とす。この斜線の角度は、内部での作業内容と外部からの視線の関係性、エントランスの動線から導き出している。細切れのフレームはリズムを生み、視線を分散させる。
小さな空間では1つの要素が全体に大きく影響するため、素材や色、スケールを綿密に検討している。それらの要素が散りばめられることで、訪れる人がそれぞれ気になるところを見つけられるような、多様性のある空間になった。
ウォルナットやオークの造作、真鍮の小物など、新しく設えたものたちが躯体から感じられる時間の経過を受け入れ、サロンとともに変化していくことを期待している。（横山信介）
A compact beauty salon packed with elements
This expansion and relocation project for a salon in Jiyugaoka incorporates a head spa salon, esthetic body salon, eyelash salon, and several ancillary functions into a 33m² space of a fixed minimum required size.
Variability of the required workspace and flow lines with movable partitions, the concept of sound between rooms, and the efficient arrangement of air conditioning equipment were all considered in order to achieve the minimum space. Comprehensive planning was required to create a smooth line of flow within the compact space and to bring it closer to the client’s image.
The steel windows of the facade, with their striking diagonal lines, cast beautiful shadows on the wall in front of the seating area. The angle of this oblique line was derived from the relationship between the work inside and the line of sight from the outside, as well as the line of flow at the entrance. The slender frame creates a rhythm and disperses the line of sight.
Because one element in a small space can have a large impact on the whole, materials, colors, and scale are carefully considered. These elements are interspersed to create a space of such diversity that each visitor can find something of interest.
We hope that the newly installed items, such as the walnut and oak molding and brass accessories, will accept the passage of time felt from the frame and change with the salon. (Shinsuke Yokoyama)
