静岡県御殿場市に建つ、宿泊施設のレセプション棟の計画。
敷地は広大な森の中の丘陵地で、富士山への眺望や小川のせせらぎがある自然豊かな土地である。レセプション棟は点在する宿泊コテージの受付機能のほか、カフェやショップ、ラウンジを有し、宿泊者だけでなく地域の人々も気軽に立ち寄れる交流の場としての機能も求められた。
地形に沿って配置される切妻屋根のコテージは平側が富士山を向き、道から見ると妻側が一律に並ぶ特徴的な景観が生まれる。私たちは、自然と共にコテージの集まりを1つの風景と捉え、敷地に対する建ち方を共有することで、調和のある群としての宿泊施設を考えた。
コテージと呼応する家型のプリミティブな断面と、富士山を縁取る四角い窓を直交して配置し、平面的にも断面的にも緩やかなカーブを描く屋根で繋ぐ。壁は屋根のカーブに内接するように雁行して築き、梁を一方向に同ピッチで架け渡すことにより、内部では断続的なシークエンスを形成し、外部ではグラデーショナルな形状の変化が表情になって現れる。
敷地特有の現象を顕在化し、少しだけ変形を加えることで、この土地だからこそつくられる佇まいを目指した。（山下貴成、YoungAh Kang）
A house-type reception building corresponding to the cottage with a view of Mount Fuji
This is a plan for a reception building for an accommodation facility to be built in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The site is a hillside in a vast forest, rich with views of Mt. The reception building was to serve not only as a reception area for the cottages scattered throughout the site but also as a place where guests and residents could casually drop in and mingle.
The gable-roofed cottages are arranged along the topography, with the flat side facing Mt. Fuji, creating a characteristic view of the gable side uniformly lined up when viewed from the road. We considered the cluster of cottages as a landscape together with nature, and by sharing how they are built in relation to the site, we came up with the idea of a harmonious accommodation facility as a group.
The primitive house-shaped cross-section corresponding to the cottages and the square windows framing Mt. Fuji are placed orthogonally and connected by a roof that gently curves both in plan and section. The walls are built in a wild goose chase inscribed in the curve of the roof, with beams spanning in one direction at the same pitch, forming an intermittent sequence on the interior, while gradational changes in shape appear on the exterior as an expression.
By making the site’s unique phenomena apparent and adding slight deformations, we aimed to create an appearance that can only be created on this site. (Takashige Yamashita, YoungAh Kang)
