渋谷駅前と、文化・教育拠点が集まる青山エリアとを結ぶ青山通り沿いの計画地で、歩行者ネットワークの創出により駅・まち・地域をつなぐことを目指した再開発プロジェクト。
敷地は、オフィスワーカーに加えて学生やクリエイターなど多様な人びとが行き交うポテンシャルを持ちつつも、幹線道路に囲まれ周辺との回遊性が失われていた。そこで、渋谷駅前再開発の基本的な考え方である「アーバンコア（地域の谷地形を解消する垂直動線）」を発展させ、建物中央部に階段、エスカレーター、エレベーターや、腰かけられる滞在スポットを随所に設けたアトリウムを設置。エントランスと、周辺のデッキ・歩道橋と接続するブリッジを設けて人流を引き込み、高低差を解消しながら6方面へ展開する動線を構築し、駅、まち、地域をシームレスにつなげるネットワークを生み出した。

An office building where “pathways” crisscross through the structure, connecting the station, the town, and the surrounding community
This redevelopment project, located along Aoyama-dori—which connects Shibuya Station to the Aoyama area, a hub for culture and education—aims to link the station, the town, and the surrounding community by creating a pedestrian network.
While the site has the potential to attract a diverse mix of office workers, students, and creative professionals, it is surrounded by major roads, resulting in limited connectivity with the surrounding area. To address this, the project expanded upon the fundamental concept of the Shibuya Station Front Redevelopment—“Urban Core” (vertical circulation that eliminates the valley-like topography of the area)—by creating an atrium in the center of the building. This atrium features stairs, escalators, elevators, and numerous seating areas throughout. By creating an entrance and a bridge connecting to the surrounding decks and pedestrian overpasses, we drew in pedestrian traffic. We established circulation routes extending in six directions while eliminating elevation differences, thereby creating a network that seamlessly connects the station, the town, and the surrounding community.
