大阪の上本町の家。
施主は建築インテリアデザインが好きで、たびたび写真共有サービスで気に入ったイメージ写真を送ってこられた。イメージ写真を整理し、さらに新たにイメージを提案しながら打ち合わせが進み、各所のシーン（空間）のデザインを決定づけていき、気がつけば設計打ち合わせ期間は3年近くに及んだ。
また、与えられた敷地に対し、如何に要望を満たし、快適な住空間が提案できるか熟考を重ね、辿りついた案は、南東側に庭を設け、それを囲むようにL字型の建物を3層にわたりスキップフロアで段々と上がっていくシークエンスを意識した案だった。
ところどころ穴を開けるように、ガーデンスペースを4カ所設け、内部と外部をつなぐ装置とした。
玄関から半階分下がった半地下に和室（ゲストルーム）と書斎を設けた。
和室に至る廊下はあえて長い通路とし、期待感を煽り、浮遊した舞台のような和室が現れる。
和室から坪庭を鑑賞でき、落ち着いた和の世界が地下に広がるデザインとした。
書斎は乳白のガラスを木製の格子で囲み、内部の照明がつくと、廊下に行灯の明かりが滲み出るように計画した。
玄関から半階分上がった1.5階にダイニングキッチンを設けた。
階段の段板は鉄道の枕木を使用した。
ダイニングから南東側のウッドデッキに段差なしで出られるようにし、ダイニングと一体でBBQが楽しめるようにした。
ダイニングキッチンから2階のリビングに至る階段は、幅の大きな大階段とし、空間につながりをもたせた。
リビング正面には厚みのある石を積み重ね、そこから半階下がった庭を眺めることもできる。
リビングから半階上がった2.5階に子供部屋、さらに半階上がった3階に洗面、浴室、寝室、クロゼットを設けた。
空調は、エアコンを用いず、夏は冷水、冬は温水が流れる輻射熱冷暖房のルーバーを各所にもうけ、スキップの階段を介して建物全体が快適な環境になるように考えた。
さまざまな素材を各所に用いたことにより、スキップフロアと相まって、豊かな空間がつくり出せたように思う。（竹中隆士）
Skip-floor house for rich living with various materials and devices
A house in Uehommachi, Osaka.
The client likes architecture and interior design and has often sent me images that he liked on photo-sharing services. He sorted out the image photographs, proposed new images, proceeded with the meeting, and decided on the design of each scene (space).
In addition, we thought deeply about how we could meet the needs of the given site and propose a comfortable living space. It was a proposal conscious of the sequence gradually going up on the skip floor over three layers.
Four garden spaces were provided with holes here and there to connect the inside and outside.
A Japanese-style room (guest room) and a study were set up in the semi-basement, half a floor below the entrance.
The corridor leading to the Japanese-style room is deliberately long, creating a sense of anticipation, and the Japanese-style room appears like a floating stage.
From the Japanese-style room, you can enjoy the view of the inner garden, and the design is such that a calm Japanese world spreads out into the basement.
The study was designed to surround the milk-white glass with wooden grids so that when the interior lighting is turned on, the light of the lanterns oozes out into the corridor.
A dining kitchen was set up on the 1.5th floor, half a floor above the entrance.
Railway sleepers were used for the treads of the stairs.
From the dining room to the wooden deck on the southeast side, there is no step so that you can enjoy BBQ together with the dining room.
The staircase leading from the dining kitchen to the living room on the 2nd floor is a wide staircase that connects the space.
Thick stones are piled up in front of the living room, and you can see the garden half a floor down from there.
The children’s room is on the 2.5th floor, half a floor up from the living room, and the washbasin, bathroom, bedroom, and closet are on the 3rd floor, which is half a floor higher.
Air conditioning does not use air conditioners, and radiant heat cooling and heating louvers that flow cold water in summer and hot water in winter are installed in various places. The entire building through the skip stairs is considered a comfortable environment.
I think that by using various materials in various places, together with the skip floor, we were able to create a rich space.(Ryuji Takenaka)
