宮崎市の中心市街地に近い場所に建つ、鉄筋コンクリート造2階建ての夫婦と子供3人の住宅である。設計当初から鉄筋コンクリート造を希望されていた。
計画地は住宅街ではあるが、5層程度のマンションや大学、飲食店が混在しており、幹線道路から1本入った通りに面している。
RCの壁構造で無理のないスパンの複数のボリュームで構成している。内部には1.5層分の吹き抜けのあるリビング、対比的にスケールを落とし、木の梁を並べたダイニング、土壁の和室があり、キッチン・水廻り・WICは裏の動線からもアクセスできる。ゾーニングとプランニングできっちりと要望を処理しつつ、大きな要望であったピアノをリビングに置くために天井の高低差や彫り込んだ床、照明などを工夫している。建物の中心にある階段室は、ハイサイドの光で日中も明るくなっている。街並みに対しては、建った後の外部空間で空の広がりを確保するため、ボリュームを分節し、色を部分的につけることで奥行きを与え圧迫感をなくしている。
周辺がある程度密集しているため、壁で中庭を囲い建具の高さなどを抑えつつ南面の建物の上層部から見下げの目線などを避け、広がりのある快適な住空間を計画した。しっかりとした裏の動線や収納が、この家を支えている。（山田伸彦）
Robust and bright RC house that takes into consideration the spread of the surrounding sky
This is a two-story reinforced concrete house for a couple and their three children, located near the center of Miyazaki City. The client wanted a reinforced concrete structure from the beginning of the design.
The project site is in a residential area, but there is a mix of 5-story condominiums, universities, and restaurants, and it faces a street that is one street away from the main road.
The structure is an RC wall structure consisting of multiple volumes with a reasonable span. Inside, there is a living room with a 1.5-story atrium, a dining room with wooden beams in contrast, and a Japanese-style room with mud walls. The kitchen, water, and W.I.C. can be accessed from the back of the house. While the zoning and planning of the house were carefully handled, the height difference of the ceiling, the carved floor, and the lighting were designed to accommodate the piano in the living room, which was a significant request. In addition, the stairwell, located in the center of the building, is brightly lit by high side lighting. After the construction, to secure the expanse of the sky for the surroundings, the volume is segmented. The color is partially added to give depth and eliminate the oppressive feeling to the cityscape.
Since the surrounding area is densely populated to some extent, we planned a spacious and comfortable living space by enclosing the courtyard with a wall and keeping the height of the fixtures and fittings down while at the same time avoiding lines of sight from the upper floors of the building on the south side.
